Oh, and you are going to have to remove the fuse panel/Body Control Module too. Tools needed: T20 torx bit, flexible screwdriver. Tape that shit together, I kept losing the bits.

Having to replace it, this is the only helpful video on KZbin so thank you. Also this part is a pos, absolutely NO clearance

Thanks for the video. you have one of the few helpful videos on the topic. I was feet up under the glove box this afternoon trying to diagnose the problem. I stopped when i realized it might be something i couldn't easily get out with the tools i had on hand. good to know this whole stinking thing has to come out for the little actuator on top.

I got the glove compartment off. I see the actuator and I tried the smallest profile ratchet with a t20 and I can just not get to the actuator mounts. The video is correct. You have to take out the housing just to get to the stupid actuator and it is a pain in the ass. The way the housing is mounted in the car, the actuator is on top of the housing. The top of the housing faces towards the top of the dash board in the car

I tried to replace mine but gave up after 2 hours. This is a pain in the butt. I got 2 screws out but couldn’t get the button right one out. Would it hurt anything if I just left the way it is? With the clicking?

Best goddamn video on the internet's! Thanks. I've got to do the identical repair on my 2012 focus POS. I think you answered all of my questions. How many fasteners are there to the glove box? And with your flex screwdriver, I think that's the key to this repair. Hopefully you'll be monitoring comments here as I may be leaning on you for questions. Thanks again!

I believe there’s four screws to the glove box, and one of them is going to be not very visible on the underside, I know there’s a good video for that, I’ll try to find it and link it

HELP!! I was able to remove one of the screws to the air inlet duct, but how the heck did you get to the other two? From what I can tell, the two that are left are the ones at the top and bottom, closest to the firewall, but I can’t even see them. Any chance you’d be willing to let me in on the secret?
@jlnajera2 жыл бұрын
I had to use a flexible screwdriver plus extensions to reach them, and I had to pretty much do it by feel, it was terrible. Just look really closely at the air inlet duct on my video, I point out where the screw holes are on the part. Before I ever got it off, I was using my camera phone to figure out where they were. They are not visible because they are towards the rear of the part, in a fairly tight space.
@garbagemcgee2 жыл бұрын
@@jlnajera yeah, that confirms my suspicions. I didn’t think about the camera phone option, that is definitely worth trying! Well, time to contort my body and curse the Ford engineering team! Thanks for the reply!

@@jlnajera sorry to bug you again, but out of curiosity, did you reinstall all three of those screws as well?

This will fix my clicking noise on my 2012 Ford Focus??
@jlnajera2 жыл бұрын
If this is where the clicking is coming from. This is the actuator that controls the recirculation door. If you’ve ever pressed the button to have your air recirculate, then clicking started, it is probably this one. You can listen from floor of the passenger side to be sure.

You got both screws on the firewall side, right? Sorry for the late reply. There are only three screws, and if you got them out, I’m confused as to where it could still be connected.

BIG question for you all. How many actuators are there on a dual zone vs single zone control? This will help MANY people.
@jonp7612 жыл бұрын
Anyone have a part number for this? I do not have dual zone climate control.

I replaced mine this weekend, those Ford engineers should be ashamed of themselves...I don't know why they didn't mold an enclosed channel for each of those screws so it'd be easier to guide the screwdriver to the screw (and not lose them on removal and reinstall).

Lol! Already did a blower motor, year later the flap gears under the motor are shot..
@empe8112 жыл бұрын
Yeah... that thing died in my car too... I just taken out glove box and see that bastard. Recilculation has died with no warning... no clicking as people mention, just silence. And since blower isn't so silent as it used to be so probably there is more to fix in that rabbit hole...
