this is why i dont take my car to shops. that castle nut should be torqued to 32ft lbs. you just impacted it for a good 5 seconds.

I have been successful in simply turning the outer tie rod off the jamb nut without loosening the jamb nut, and my car went for alignment but needed no adjustment. I think the only reason that succeeded was because the outer tie rod didn't have a ton of play in it.

You didn’t center the tie rod ball joint before you tightened the lock nut.

what should i do if the one i buy is shorter or longer than OEM? do i use paint pen to mark thread?

I don't know if that will work. That's why I always buy factory tie rod ends. Maybe your tie rod is the wrong one for the vehicle.
