would yah look at that a tech using a Bauer drill. That makes me feel good about my own purchase. The drill works great. Harbor freight has decent tools in my experience if you can't afford snap on.

The tool isnt needed if you have a big enough wrench it slides onto the inner tie rod to remove/install it. Thanks for the video

Also its good to note that the GREEN RUBBER STOP sits flush behind the locking washer (washer with two tabs). But not sure what the purpose of it is for since there seem to be some brown fluid (maybe power steering fluid) already inside the below boot.

I purchased a steering and suspension kit. I installed my inner tie rod as shown in this video however after watching the is video I left forgot to put the grease packet on the inner tie rod as demonstrated here. Everything is put back on would it be a problem or is it fine without it? The part already came pre greased with some silicone type grease I believe.

No need to chisel the inner clamp off. You can reach the clamp release with a long screw driver and twist it off. It is located directly below the boot

What’s the torque spec for the inner tire rod going into the rack and pinion? I’ve got a tool that allows me to torque it but in the video I’m pretty sure it just said to snug it

So what would be symptoms of a bad inner or outer tie rod? I have an 08 civic 180k mi with fairly new struts, lower control arms w/bushings, stabilizer bar bushings & links but driving over bumps or some potholes I can hear a loud thumping rough noise. Still have original cv shaft, front wheel bearings and both inner and outer tie rods.

You can jack ur car up and grab your outer tie rod with your hand wiggle it and if its easy to move it around or making clanking noises most likely bad

I love how these videos always make it look so simple... "we're going to go ahead and give this knuckle a few taps to loosen that tie rod end"... 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Looks like seemingly not one of these youtubers knows anything about living in the Salt Belt and how it's always nearly impossible to remove ball joints and tie rod ends... 🙄🙄🙄🙄 Where's a good video showing HOW TO REMOVE THESE FREAKING BALL JOINT WITHOUT DESTROYING THEM? I've even BROKEN one of these lever shaped extractors trying!!! Needless to say I ALWAYS use Never Seize on all my jobs when I finally succeed removing these parts because they are otherwise almost impossible to remove again next time you need to service them...
