Going to my first Indy 500 this year..........can't wait! Watched it every year since 1986.......now I get to be there in person!
@kevinhalfmann606412 жыл бұрын
I was at the race and for being a race fan, this was a once in a lifetime event. That day when the cars were going around during the first laps, it sent chills through me because watching it in person and watching it on tv are totally different especially when the cautions happened and I was sitting between turns one and two. Whether you are a race fan or not, this is something that you'll remember for a long time when you go there.

Enjoy the weekend! Such a great total experience, Carb day on Friday, the parties Saturday into Sunday and the track festivities that you don't get to see on TV are a lot of fun to be a part of.

It was sooooo hot that day, I kept having to leave the stands and refill my 1-liter water bottle. Must have done that at least 8 times during the race. Never once had to actually use the restroom because I sweated so much....Anyone else there that day have the same experience?

i have been to quite a few 500s and i thought last years was exciting but i never expected to see 2 races in a row where last lap crashes happened. this was the best race i have ever been to. love the way the new cars are. they arent as loud but the racing was great. cant wait till next year for the aero packages. if you havent been to the 500 you have no idea what your missing. i look forward to going every year. hope to see you all there next year!!!

IndyCar continues to be a leader in fan connection by posting the full race on KZbin. I hope other series follow IndyCar's lead. It's a great way to introduce new fans to the sport. What a race!

Awesome! Thank you IndyCar for uploading!!! You are doing something different, and exposing this sport to the rest of the world that don't get coverage of the race is fantastic. These "other" motorsporting series should take look to see how you do things!!! Thanks again IndyCar!!!

A bold, Bold, move, but a great one. Well done IndyCar.. P.S To all the teams wanting to get rid of Randy, think about the fans! He has done so much for our sport, and deserves praise, not a death penalty. He's even turned down offers from elsewhere to honor his commitment to our sport. Get a grip...

I suggest numberplates with white backing, something like MX. Drivers could still have a signature styled number, but they would be more visible. To use the curved back wing endplates as an example, have the space mandated on every car to be white with black outline, a large, darker colored number. You could even throw a small IICS logo in somewhere. Then market t-shirts decals etc. to fans. Just a thought on the "Hard to see numbers on these cars" comment during the broadcast.
@kevinhalfmann287311 жыл бұрын
I would have to agree with you on both. It was hot because I was sitting between turns 1 and 2. And I was facing the sun which made it seem hotter. It was my first time going there so I had goosebumps for the first few laps.

I'm telling you, it was so hot that day at the race.....I honestly cried my head off when they played taps & Dan Wheldon's car circled the track. If you don't understand why I did...then you just don't know what Indy means.

@Brandon-ie4bc8 жыл бұрын
+mikedon458 You posted this a year ago, but I wanted to reply anyways :D I'm not sure of any websites where you can watch Indy races online, but, if you have an Iphone or ipad, you can download the verison indycar app and watch the races live on a 3d map, and onboard cameras. And man, you missed a good race yesterday, it was in Long Beach California (Road Course), Simmon Pagenaud (Frenchman) had a very controversial win. On around the 75+ lap, when leaving pit road, he cut his vehicle over the yellow lines to keep his lead, with Scott Dixon closing in. The yellow line leaving pit road is one that is to never be crossed by more than 2 tires, RIGHT before the end of the line, he had the exit set up for all 4 to cross it, which is illegal. BUT THEY NEVER CALLED IT! :l I think Scott Dixon (New Zealander) should have won.www.presstelegram.com/sports/20160417/simon-pagenaud-earns-controversial-win-at-2016-toyota-grand-prix-of-long-beach

your clearly a Dario fan, Dario have half a car length! If you look closely, IRL wanted Dario to win. I understand at that speed you can't slow down because you will end up crashing both of you.
@djbadlt12 жыл бұрын
now this is just a personal opinion, i think the engines, while nice sounding, still sound too much like the old Hondas ... i say raise the rev-limit a thousand or two and up the boost ... these cars should be screaming and wailing, not blairing ... imo.

dude, dario was up in the fucking marbles! And held it! The guy did a wonderful job. Sato droped down below the white line to make that pass, and it wouldn't have been a legal pass because of that anyway! He wouldn't have been declared winner even if he hadn't crashed!

@sdsmt995 жыл бұрын
That prerace was a clown show. Don't care what happened on the track the year before, a car should not be sent out to cheers during "Taps", that's a moment to remember fallen soldiers. Injecting Musberger added nothing, and then the Ballon release was late, after the command instead of at the beginning of "Indiana". Oh and Dario didn't touch 'king Sato.
@gagemcpherson44545 жыл бұрын
It was also to respect our fallen Indy 500 champion duhhhh both were honored Dan was my favorite so take your comment somewhere else
@sdsmt992 жыл бұрын
@@gagemcpherson4454 plenty of tributes all over. Taps is a SILENT and somber moment to honor fallen soldiers, not an applause time for a race car.
