2012 Mercedes-Benz Gl 450 Review

2007 GL450. Now 164k.Everyting works, Loads of room in the 3 rows of seats. Replaced front air shocks, repainted left rear fender (clearcoat was coming off) and the occasional light bulb.. Looks great, pleasure to drive, especially in bad weather conditions.. I use liqui-moly in the engine coolant and oil (just me). Highly recommend Michelin tires. Cons. Needs premium, and gets 14-18 mpg. :(

Thank u 4 doing these demo type videos. We just bought the GL 450 & no matter how many times I go 2 the dealership or how many salesmen I talk to it's impossible 2 learn ALL the features that this vehicle has 2 offer. I am watching video's on it 2 help me learn all of it's features. SOOOO much to learn :-\ and the manual is NOT user friendly :-\

Yea, depending on what year you got it you may not have the chrome fins on the hood. Ours was an option that didn't come standard (We had to pay for it) It was part of the Appearance package, which also came with the chrome door handle inserts, chrome exhaust tips, illuminated running boards, and the chrome roof rails. The 2013 model comes with all that stuff i just mentioned standard. The new "Appearance Package" for the 2013 model is just illuminated running boards, and chrome exhaust tips.

GREAT JOB! The seating is not leather however the material they use dosent crack split and last a very long time I saw a vehicle that had 100K miles on it and the seating still looked awesome...

I hope you got another Escalade! I wouldn't trade my Escalade for anything. I ended up with the GL450 by chance trying to run away from a failing s400 hybrid with a flopping record at 66k miles. Escalade is a great choice tho.

you mentioned about the up hill control... It is really an off road thing.. I really don't know what it is called but if you notice using it your transmission changes. Although it is a GREAT REVIEW!

+Manny Lam it helps get up steep slopes, the downhill one keeps it at set speed so all you have to do is steer. its amazing off road

Escalade is a much larger SUV. It gets a little less mpg then the gl. I would compare the escalade to the GL550 for a closer head to head comparison. Both are very capable vehicles, but my opinion swings toward the Gl because it offers far more technology, safety, build quality, and luxury for the buck.

Fake? By what do you mean fake? It's for a sporty look and design. And the black grid under the fins is used for ventilation.

Gunny. The chrome fins on top of the "heat vent" are not real. The left hand side hood vent is fake and does nothing. The right hand side is the one that functions. I know because we have a 2012 GL550

You are what?? 14??? LOL good video nontheless. Bad thing about MB SUV telematics is that they're about 2 generations behind. Second, it has a small interior for the price (same size inside as the last gen full frame Ford Explorer and the same towing capability) Mb reliability isnt the best;it is no where NEAR best in class for towing, cargo, interior space or amenities for the price. Ford, Lincoln, GM, Chevy, GM, Caddy, Dodge and Audi all have more capable Suv's.Your parents bought a nameplate
