Is the Mercedes computer based on actual mileage or the passage of time? I was told by a mechanic to disregard the service light if the car is just sitting in the garage and not being used since the computer is based on the passage of time. Is this true?

Trying that with my 2012 C300 its not working has the serviceB5 exceeded up and not mileage The mileage come up with key in off position

There are some services that need reset by the dealer, this may be one of them.

My MIL's 2010 C300 had service B5 exceeded by 500 days, I was able to reset after watching this video, the mileage did come up with key in position 1 but I still toggled until it came up again. Weird thing though, it showed services up to 8 but no B5 but still cleared everything.
