Thanks for this. I have never had any issues with my CVT so I have never changed my fluid but I decided to keep the car a little longer so I will definitely change it now.

I had no end of trouble trying to remove the cap, until I understood that you may not get it open by pushing down, along the length of the part. You have to push perpendicular to the cap and at the bottom of the slot. I made a long tool out of a heavy piece of wire with a 90 degree bend at the end that was ground down to a flat screwdriver shape. I used my left hand to position the wire. With my right hand wrapped around the cap, I pushed the wire into the diameter of the tube and lifted it out. Like many things, it's easy when you know how.

Would replacing the filters and oil with new ones cause for it to not shift st all? Getting codes P0868 (low pressure) and P0826 (up/down shift switch)

Mine is a 2014 maxima. Do I need to drop the transmission pan and change out the screen and clean and metal debris that’s on the magnets or just change the filter only and transmission fluid?

I thought it wasnt good to drain all the fluid off those CVT transmissions I have a 2010 I asked Nissan to do a flush they wouldnt do it. Because they said the fluid was too dark. So I ask why. I was told the transmission could mess up with the new fluid. I'm lost right now I need to changing filter its rattling. I have a 190 thousand on the car. What do u think?

@@javiervargas3461 i went auto part store and they said i needed 10 quarts but i watched your video and seen it was maybe 4 or 5 quarts thanks alot. oh and where did you get filter

@@tyrenzokelly9284 They are right, you need 10 quarts if you are going to flush all the fluid out, but that's not recommended it. But if you want to change all the fluid you would have to do what I did 2 times and you will have all the fluid as clean as possible. Many people does it 2 times, I personally don't think it's necessary if you change the fluid every 30-40 thousand miles

That is the gear box filter. He just did a drain and fill with filter change.

@@robbieyh did you check the level with the dipstick and the transmission temperature at 160?

@@javiervargas3461 I don’t have a ObD2scanner. I just drove it around a lot and then I would measure the cross hatch on the dipstick. The fluid should be in the middle. I don’t know how long 160 degrees would take of driving?

Never understood videos that have "Remove the old filter and replace with new" edits that don't show the actual removing/replacing. Don't you think someone doing this for the first time might want to see exactly what you did with hoses and bolts when removing old and putting in new - like the order of hoses on/off, so we can make judgements on what might work best? Really frustrating but it happens on a lot of vids like this. I guess you don't want to let people see what issues you might have had with the details. Why on earth not?
