A podcast brought me here and by god am I glad I skipped this movie. I mean you have understood that a very big solar flair is very problematic for us. Even so you decided to add in mutating neutrinos which then act, as in don't turn into but behave the same as, microwaves. But not regular microwaves. Oh no that would be to sane. These are behaving selectively as microwaves with water, and presumably metal, near the earths core heating up but us squishy water laden bags of stupid remain unaffected. I mean you begin to wonder if whoever wrote this schlock at one point got stuck in a microwave as a child.

People who laugh at this movie physics aspect don't really understand physics at all. Look, it's a hypothetical case. Physics is the study of natural phenomena, they're called phenomena because they're just there, we see them, we observe them. If in the case of the earth core heating up at an unprecedented rate, you can work backwards to see what is the cause, and in this case, it's the "neutrinos". Unexplainable phenomena challenges the known theory of science, and those phenomena proves that there's a hole in the currently accepted explanation. Pal, if there's no new phenomena then there's no movie.
