took a valve stuck open code that puts the truck into limp mode and created a valve stuck closed code but eliminated limp mode.

It’s ridiculous that Toyota will not sell just the reed plate to replace, they want $450 for the whole valve assembly. I was thinking of just putting a solid plate in like this, thanks for the video! Have you tried clearing the check engine light with a code reader and see if it comes back on with the solid plate installed? I am thinking it must be the hot exhaust gasses coming back through the reed plate is what triggers the sensor to activate the check engine light.

So closed valve fault isn't a de rate situation like open valve fault. It will keep the check engine light like this unless you buy the computer they make to fool the sensors but I don't mind the engine light

I made it out of .063 aluminum sheet with a cut off wheel and a drill. Took about 20 mins to make both of them
