My wife has a 2009 1.4 TSI, and despite the much talked about timing chain it is really excellent- 100 % reliable and good fuel economy and power

I agree. Had a 1.2 TSI in my Skoda Fabia. Timing Chain had to be replaced at 70kkm but it was a very reliable car.
