I bought the same car a few weeks ago, I like it, but if I'm not mistaken it's the weakest motor off all the Golf 6, if you have 4 passenger the car really struggle.

I bought it 2 Weeks ago for my 17 year old son. I drive a 180hp Tiguan myself but i really enyoy it to drive the 80hp Golf. It's pure cruisin and if you shift it intelligent the car fits in any situation. I would recommend it. Actually it's the most reliable MK6 powertrain.

I also have Golf 6 1.4 but 160hp, goes much harder, but requires good quality petrol. Otherwise engine catches detonation and starts to kick back when you floor it.

@@HilbertusPL no, mine is stock. I don’t really think this is a good idea to squeeze more power of this little 1.4. However some people do it and get like st.1 around 210hp and have +200k km on the clock, but I wouldn’t try. If I wanted 200+ hp, I would rather go with 2.0 engine, so basically I would just get GTI.

​@@p.t.3726 It's not about squeezing power. the factory engine map in CAVD is very poor. You need to adjust the AFR to lower the temperature of the exhaust gas (EGT). That is why the pistons in these engines broke. Only pros of this operation

@@marioznj Hi mate. I've got the car from VW just for a week so I can't help you sorting that problem. But to be honest I've never heard any strage noises or a ticking sound from the engine.

DSG gearboxes has absolutely no issues at all. They are shifting really quick and the shifting through gears is very smooth. The only downside though is that the fuel consumption is a little bit higher but it's definitely worth it.

When u say fuel consumption is higher by how much like what u get form a tank of fuel form a dsg as to a tank of fuel form a manuel. And DSG is good yes no issues cos i look at reviews online and plp say they give bit of trouble am just a bit scard and what miles do oil have to be change on the DSG? @@user-um3ip3rw3e The fuel consumption is a very abstract concept, it depends on many things such as terrain, wheels, weather and equipment that may alter the exact weight of the car. The DSG itself will increase your fuel consumption with 0.3 - 0.5 litres per 100 km.

@@user-um3ip3rw3e Transmission fluid or "DSG Oil" should be changed every 60,000km or 37,300 miles. At least that's what VW recommends.

Io ho comprato questa macchina.. proprio questa...un po' fiacchina, ma supersoddisfatto sui consumi..se si adopera una guida tranquilla si percorrono 100 km. Per 5 LT...la ricomprerei Sicuro...un po' deluso appena comprata, ma una volta conosciuta...la fine del mondo..se l'avessi comprata prima mi sarei risparmiato una barca di soldi..Ciao a tutti..buone feste..!!

Here is a tip, don't buy a MK6 with this Engine.Ive had the same MK6 with the 1.4 N/A with 80hp and its juat to slow for this car.Especially uphill and if loaded,the car struggles to exceed 80 km/h and the engine is revving at about 4.5 rpm. Its just too slow to the point where its almost unsafe,maybe OK in a Polo but a Golf MK6 isnt the lightest thing so this engine is just not good. I would rather buy the 1.4 TSI Turbo with over a 100hp and if thats a bit too much in fuel there is also 1.2 TSI turbo with over 100hp.If you Fancy a Diesel with allright power and good fuel economy there is a 1.6 TDI thats ofcourse turbocharged and if you need even more power there is a 2.0 TDI with plenty of power and still good fuel economy. Those are the most common ones but there is also a 2.0 TSI in the GTI with over 200hp and a 2.0 TDI in the GTD with around 170hp.

Its maybe slow but quite realible and cheap.. thats the only reason why i would buy this engine... 1.6 mpi should be even better but fuel consumption is lower with the 1.4 I personally give a fuck about speed. If i want a racecar dont buy a fucking golf...

And there is also a Lamborghini v10 with 5.0L with 600 PS. Just buy that and you will be fine. It won't be as slow as a Golf so whats the point of buying a 1.4 l Golf? Why everybody cant just buy a Lamborghini? It's turbocharged and ultra light weight so you won't drive but fly uphill you know. So all those **** golfs are just shit. Especially the 1.4. Just buy a Lamborghini and you dont need a 80ps golf. Yeah life is just so fkin easy.

This might be the most reliable engine on the mk6 golf and its cheaper to buy and to run. For a car to go to work 95% of the time its a reasonable engine. (Tsi's have horrible reliability btw)
