the key to speed in guitar, drums or anything like this really is minimal to no wasted movement, so keeping the sticks as low as possible really helps

I prefer to see the highest consistent BPM instead of chaotic frantic sticking. This would show the touch and technique. This is say sport but the playing of rudiments at prescribed BPM for a minute would be very interesting musically.

Had these guys used bigger sticks (yes, even more than 2B) they have had more weight behind the stick. Combine with a technique that balances both speed and endurance (for example, I use the switch grip technique) and then you can go pretty far.

Usually if a drummer is blasting faster than that they are doing the gravity drop trick. basically hits the snare on the down and up beat.

***** Well, most of these guys are actually pretty slow and they have sloppy technique. The guy at the 2 minute mark seems to be doing all right (didn't bother watching more that about 3 mins, so can't say if more of the guys are fast), but there are lots of bands playing in tempos upwards of 300 bpm. 16ths in 300 bpm gives you 1200 strokes in a minute, so even if they couldn't keep the tempo up for a minute straight, over 1000 shouldn't be a problem. The "gravity drop trick" is usually called "gravity blast" when incorporated in a beat, otherwise just freehand technique.
