@@astronomical5742 I am happy, yes. First, the sound. There is a nice deep growl now when cold starting. And an incredibly deep tone when pushing it hard. I've gotten compliments from strangers who heard me accelerating past them. Second, I DID notice a performance gain. Acceleration feels faster from a standstill as well as anywhere between 2-4k rpms. Here in Mexico city we are at high altitude, so the difference is noticeable. You can see how I installed it (video is in Spanish), but there is a sound testing section at the end. I've installed K&N intakes on over a half dozen of my cars over the years. The install for my 2016 Mazda 3 was the easiest of them all. Took around 30 minutes. It feels like there is a slight increase in power from 4k rpm's up, but it feels like a slight loss of low end power and the sound is meh..sounds like someone gargling. I had the system on for a week when I then installed a Racing Beat exhaust...this by far a much better performance enhancement. The power difference with the Racing Beat system is noticeable across the entire rpm range and the car is more responsive. Putting both the intake and exhaust on makes a nice bump in power and responsiveness which is very welcome since the 2.0 is pretty gutless below 4k rpm's. If you have to decide between one or the other, the racing beat exhaust is the very clear choice for more power and response.

The 2013 Mazda 3 Skyactive 2.0 motor had a different motor set up than the 2014 version so this intake will not fit for the 2013 model. This intake will only fit the 2014-2015 models only

For all the people with a Gen2 2013 Mazda 3 that are looking through these comments worried. The heat shield does NOT fit and only fits on the next generation. With that being said, the rest of the intake will fit if you install without the heat shield. I’ll be doing a custom fitment with the heat shield and will update my comment once I have that part installed.

Admir Karalic it doesn’t. fit I took my car apart and the heat sheild has no where to bolt on to. You would have to do some kind of custom fabrication

This is not accurate!! This only works on late model 2013 models with the new body style, 2012- 2013 early models where test fitted a 2.0 skyactiv engine. The air intake will not fit because the cramped space in the 2012 and 2013 engine bay. But I made it fit hahahahaha!!!!!! But it's very misleading!

@@alexvaldez1381 if you have the 2010-2013 model body style I touring sedan or hatch back , with skyactiv 2.0 it will not fit, but you can make it fit. What does not really fit is the heat shield, it was designed for the 2014-2017 skyactiv mazda3.

@@alexvaldez1381 do you know if your 3 was sold new in california? from what i can find, the lev2 pzev thing refers to the california "test group" versions of the 3 that were sold new in california to comply with its stricter emissions regulations. whether they actually changed anything in the engine i dont know, i cant imagine that a 2.0 liter engine that gets 40+mpg wouldnt comply already without any changes. i have a 2013 skyactiv hatchback (gen 2) that i bought used but it was sold new in ca, and was looking at this intake for my car, but because its part of that test group k&n says it won't work.
