Why was it decided that the ground from the blower to that plug is no longer going back to that plug? Instead it gets grounded to the dash frame

As well as the blower control signal wire, that could also have gone into the pin of that same plug? Just curious

I think that the procedure you're describing is on the other video listing, the 4 to 7 speed conversion. The resistor in that kit (that isn't in the kit in this particular video) goes under the blower, so to make the wiring fit properly we did it that way. It could also be done the way you're describing.

The bezel kit will work, but depending on compatibility of the radio you may run into issues with the radio itself. If you have the donor VIN and proof of purchase, the dealership may be able to assist with the code. We cannot assist with that unfortunately.
