Hello, I just got a brand new aftermarket amplifier installed in my 2018 Ford Fusion Titanium. The one that has the Sony Surround System with a center channel and a subwoofer. I also got a DSP installed as well. After I got these two things installed, when I went to the sound settings, it would not let me Put the sound in stereo and it is stuck in surround. The speed compensated volume also cannot be changed. I prefer stereo over surround and I was wondering how do I fix this problem and what should I do? Thanks.

I have watched many vids on installs in fusions. Passing wires thru the firewall is much easier using the big sqare grommet (edited location as i went out and re -looked at it) its to the left of the steering column near the floor. Where the carpet meets some firewall insulation, pull the insulation up, (edit stops here)Its about a 4 or 5 inch square and pops right out. Plenty of room to run wires. I found it when i installed my fog lights and DRLs that i toggled hot from the battery. Just pull the carpet down a little and its right there, cant miss it. Good vid tho.

For those who may have had this happen. I tapped into the wire mentioned on this video in my 16 Titanium and the wire was for my rear backup sensors. May be because of my line out converter but it caused them to disable and a warning came up on my screen. Otherwise Great video!

@@xavierjohnson4999 Wired it direct to the cigarette lighter and tapped into the positive. Ran the wire with my sub woofer bass controller up under the climate control buttons. Technically you can just wire it up to the positive on the subwoofer but to play it safe I ran it to the cigarette lighter.

Power your LOC instead off of the power and ground terminals of the amp, or at the fuse box.

If you pull the trim on the B pillar(between front and rear door) the wiring will be there for the rear door speakers. If you take off the rear door panels and look at the speakers, you can see exactly what color the wires are that you will tap into.

Pull off the B-pillar cover, and locate the wiring that feeds into the rear door. In that bundle of wiring, you will find a twisted wire pair which is your speaker leads. Here are those wire colors: Right Rear + Brown/white Right Rear - Brown/Blue Left Rear + White/green Left Rear - Brown/Yellow

@@JD-ym2hg Technically, being a mono amp., you can get away with just tapping the LOC both channels into one speaker. The only argument to that would be if any audio being played has bass frequencies coming out of different speakers, you may have an issue there.

Yo how filtered is the signal at the rear 6x9's? What frequency is subsonic (lpf) and what frequency is high-pass? I know this is why they make dsp blah-blah-blah but seriously where is a full-range signal? Why did the carmakers delete a full-signal that we can tap into? Baffles me....

Other than the battery being located in the rear on an 18 hybrid same Sony set up with the factory 6x9s is the wiring any difference I imagine it'd be a significantly shorter and you wouldn't have to fight with the firewall or removing all that crap to hide the wiring because it's already in the trunk

I just hooked all this up on my son’s 19 FORD FUSION TITANIUM with the Sony stereo yesterday. Today his battery ended up being dead. I want to make sure I didn’t wire something wrong. I attached the yellow wire to the constant yellow/red wire and it looks like the light was staying on at the line out converter even after shutting the car off. I’m hoping that’s not draining the battery. The battery probably needs replaced but now I’m worried it’s what I did.

The line out converter used should be connected to constant power as it will turn on your amp as soon as the vehicle wakes up. It will remain on, even after shutting the vehicle down until the electrical system "goes to sleep". Very common on late model Fords.

I'm having a problem where the amp constantly has the red light on by the "protection" text. Do you think I may need a new amp. I did it almost exactly as you did in the video. Got it to work for a whole 5 minutes too by moving my ground to a different spot, but anytime I turned the volume up slightly it would just go back into protect mode. Haven't been able to replicate what happened since.

I’ve watch many of his videos I don’t ever recall him installing anything other than 4 gauge. Many installers don’t want to install higher wattage systems because they are intimidated. Funny thing is it’s the exact same process just dealing with bigger wires and higher fuse ratings

I grabbed the 12v from the same wire as in your video but it won’t turn on my amp. I do have 12v at the amp but my remote from the LOC is not 12. Could the LOC be bad?

@@sniyps1444 I did. I’m not sure if it’s bc I have the 2020 SEL trim but I couldn’t grab 12V just like he did on the video. I had to grab 12V from the fuse box in the drivers footwell. I also noticed if I wired it like he did, my backup camera and sensors would not work correctly.

@@freddymendez4698 I had the same issue getting power for the amp. So I grabbed power from the fuse panel under the drivers dashboard and ran it all the way back to the amp. Everything else worked. My speaker wires were different color than the one in the video but all I did was find out which wire was positive and which one was negative.

Well, @9:44 we show you how to extend the speaker wire inputs so they can reach the rear deck speakers, and @11:19 we show you how we ran them up to the rear deck speakers, @11:28 we show you how they tie into the rear deck speakers left channel, and @11:51, the right deck speaker channel. Now sure how in your 36 times watching you would miss the second half of the video??

Just relocate the power and ground of the Pac module to rob power and ground off the amplifier and that should fix your issue.

Check the remote wire voltage. Mine was running 4 volts, Needs 12 volts to turn amp on.

If you're talking about a constant firing of the subs, all you need to do in unhook a microphone connection above the rear passengers. Took me weeks to find the solution but only takes 30 seconds to fix.

Best Buy charges around 150 for a basic install. Never go to actual shops because they will overcharge you by a MILE. The Best Buy that did mine did a phenomenal job and I’ve had my subs in working order for over 3 years. You just have to find the right guys for the right price 🤷‍♂️

Go to the fuse box, find a circuit that is only on when the vehicle accessory is on / running, and use an "Add-A-Circuit" to safely tap into that circuit.

Hello I’m reaching out to you guys cause I followed your video to hook up a subwoofer and amp in a 2018 Ford fusion. I purchased the Loc pro 7 and I hooked everything up as you did step by step in the video. I had no power light to the Loc pro 7 until I unhooked the remote wire from the loc and ran it to my fuse box under the hood. I have a red light now on the loc pro but still no sound through the sub. I tested the amp wires for power and their getting it bit nothings happening. How do I fix this?

In which fuse location did you use to put your remote wire. Under the hood or under the dash. Also which fuse number was it and/or what does it control. Mine stays on and id like to have it activated when the key is on

We didn't tap into the fuse box for our remote as our line out converter provided the turn on trigger for our amplifier. This is why we used the Pac LP7-2.

No they don’t. 2013-2016 Fusion are the same but 2017-2020 Fusions are different.
