Although it’s just an Okay car! Beware it’s not all that good. I’ve had exhaust manifold issues, a/c going bad which was a pressure switch and at 100k had to change that out. It’s not always as it seems so just make sure you get a good one. I’ve put in 12k plus due to issues. Car looks nice but overrated and I actually own this car. If you get one find low miles otherwise if you want speed and reliability you can get another brand personally

❤A lovely review once again Kevin. I own a 2013 Gs350 RWD and leased it brand new but at the end of the lease I just bought it out since it was so reliable and comfortable. I have had the vehicle now for 11 years and it has been pure bliss, what an amazing vehicle. The eccelaration is effortlessly smooth, the induction sound is to die for when you wanna play a little and as a family of 4, the space is more than enough for long trips. My vehicle is @ about 87000miles because I drive maybe about 8000miles a year. Fortunately I am able to do my own maintenance. 1. Oill & Filter changes every 6months or 3000 - 4000miles with 0w30 synthetic oil. 2. Spark plugs every 65000miles. 3. ATF, Fuel filter & Coolant drain and fill every 5years 4. Brake fluid & Differential oil every 3years. 5. Clean my MAF sensor and throttle body every year. I have used only premium fuel and all the fluids and parts I buy oem, no compromise. I don't wanna lie but the vehicle continues to look after my family. From South Africa.

That's awesome my friend yup you did all the right things with your vehicle, leased it new to test if it will be a car you like and if it's a reliable car and not a lemon, you did proper maintenance and used premium fuel, you also don't drive a trillion miles a year so this car has already lasted you 11 years and you can squeeze plenty more since you're such a great owner. You have def got your moneys worth and you will continue to, massive congrats!

@@three36ixx thanks for the advice, but my thing is, oil is cheap but engines aren't, plus on the other hand it gives me a chance to go under the vehicle and inspect the vehicle twice a year. I can only push the spark plugs to 100k and that will be my max. Thanks a million

I have a 2014 GS350 RWD. Owned it since new, I have 84k miles. I have had every service done at the dealer. I love this car, it still looks and drives as I did when it was new. I have had a total of three issues besides the fuel pump recall which the dealer fixed for free. 1.) the passenger side door actuator went out in 2022. Bought the part online and fixed it myself. Less than $200.00 2.) the clock on the dash stopped working last year. Dealer wanted $700 to fix. I bought the OE clock online and replaced it myself in less than 30 min. I spent $230.00 3.) Lexus uses a cable system to open and close the sunroof. Over time the cable tend to stretch and sag. The loose cable doesn’t affect the operation of the sunroof but rather the loose cables kind of bounce or vibrate off the sheet metal creating a noise. In 2018 the dealer replaced the cables at no charge. Mechanically, the car has been excellent. I wish the GS platform continued on because I would be buying a new one about now and handing the 2014 down to my oldest kid. I would enthusiastically recommend the Lexus GS350 to anyone who asked Great video

Hello from Johannesburg, South Africa. Thanks for your excellent positive reviews on the GS350. Since 2019 I’ve owned a 2015 f-sport version which has covered 170,000 km (106,000 miles). It’s been an amazingly fun daily ride and very reliable. Lexus is a highly underrated brand in SA and used models are a bargain. Also, because they’re fairly rare on our roads, they don’t get stolen often. Unfortunately this is a consideration when buying a car in SA.. The only major issue I’ve with this awesome vehicle was the replacement of the front suspension kit as it started making noises at 150,000 km (93,000 miles). Apart from that, trouble free! My only other issue has not been the cars fault, but the state of our pot holed roads in Johannesburg. I’ve had to replace several low profile tyres and fix rims over the years as it’s so hard to dodge them all.. particularly at night. Anyway it keeps you more alert when driving our technically challenging tarmac 😅

I just posted a comment earlier but it didn't take for some reason. 18 F-Sport RWD owner I bought new with 14k on the clock to keep for the long haul. I daily drive my 14 RX and my GS has been superb. Zero problems so far and I just keep up on the PM's and use it only as a Sunday driver and just like to keep it detailed often since it's a Caviar/Red combo. For other service I take it to KZbinr Toyota specialist "The Car Care Nut". Next service with him will be the transmission fluid change this spring.

Bought a 2013 GS Luxury Package about a year ago with 163k on the clock. It sits at 181k at the moment. No major issues, but I did flush and replace pretty much all the fluids, filters, spark plugs, couple of bulbs, two struts, door lock, just to get everything reset. It cost $13k initially, add another grand for dealer fees, and then another $2k for the struts, detint, and door lock replacement just to get it past an inspecrtion. All in all, I've spent an additional $4k refreshing the car, but it beats buying a brand new car in my case, and the recalls have all been taken care of. Next is probably bushings and looking at brakes since they are warped. Car wanders slightly on the highway but its not unsafe. Cosmetically, car is rough around the edges, lots of road rash, scratches, dents, you name it. The upholstery has some rips. But not bad for its age. High mileage ones that just got out from under their service schedule need some TLC when you first get your hands on them, but it has never left me stranded. Biggest hurdle right now is getting the transmission fluid gradually refreshed. Get a PPE, and keep some headroom for replacing parts. Its a great car, and very comfortable on the highway, where I'd argue is when its in its element.

I have had 3 consecutive Gs F Sports. 2015, 2018, and the last send off edition ,2020 Black line . The last is a keeper and its only issue is a brake squeak while in reverse . Coming from two Cadillacs that ended in NYS lemon law refunds. I couldn’t have been any happier in the transaction. Such a solid great car that also never became outdated looking . Currently the Blackline edition is sort out by the dealers . But they think we are just mis informed consumers. The value of it today is very high. But this is staying in my garage and always premium fuel. Great review. And always great to get others feedback

I owned a 2013 GS 350 Rwd Ultra Luxury Model with every option. And that was a wonderful reliable car. Drove it to about 168,000 without any issues besides oil and tires. And other maintenance items. Then i got into a wreck. I used the insurance money to buy a 2020 GS 350 RWD Ultra Luxury and it rode different for what whatever reason it was not as sharp to steer and not as smooth while driving my 2013 model felt like i was riding on glass regardless of road conditions. Keep in mind i bought both the 2013 and 2020 GS's brand new. This newer on felt less so. But on the up side the engine in the 2020 model felt smoother while reving the engine out. Still miss my 2013 GS.

One of the common ones I just fixed in my 2013 comes from the door mounted window switch controls. You can remove that trim piece and the controls come out with it. Then add some tape to force the two main clipped in pieces together. As far as I know, this persists all the way through the 2020 model. Crazy

2 rattles that are easy to fix- 1. Driver side door switch rattle. Fix: take off the window switch panel and wrap the inner perimeter with electrical tape. 2. Sunroof rattle when going over certain bumps at low speeds. Sounds like rear suspension or bushings. Fix: sunroof rubber seal replacement. Readjust the 4 screws that line up the sunroof. Lube and realign the sunroof cover.

I purchased a 2013 GS 350 in September 2023. It smoked upon startup, was previously repossessed and had 2 reported accidents but I went ahead and bought it. Luckily I got the extended warranty since it ended up needing an engine replacement due to bad piston rings that scored the engine wall. It was in the shop for a month and is in the shop again for a bad ECU. I should not have bought that car but I suspect that it suffered water damage. It’s on me for buying a bad car. However, this car is sooo worth it. BE WEARY OF ABUSE, cause parts are friggin pricy.

I own a 2013 Lexus GS F Sport. We have 67,000 miles. The car still looks good outside and inside. The only issue is there is a clunking sound from the rear when going over bumps. The Lexus dealer said there is no problem with the shocks. The 19 inch low profiles tires won't last past 25,000 miles and they do seem to provide a rougher ride on bas road surfaces. Otherwise, the car rides smooth and is comfortable on the highway. The only other issue is the brake dust on the front tires needs to be cleaned frequently. I rarely use the Sport + mode, but when I do, the car really screams and flys faster than I need to be driving.

Currently cross shopping between the Lexus gs350 f sport and the Kia stinger. The Lexus’ I have my eye on are usually 2014-2016 (hence definitely out of warranty) and about 6-7k cheaper than the stingers, which are around 2018-2020 but these still have a year or two of warranty left over. Any opinions on driving dynamics, comfort, reliability and usability as a daily? Thanks everyone!

I crossed shopped the same 2 vehicles almost 3 years ago. After reading how bad some Kia dealer experiences were and unpredictable reliability I went with the GS. I'm a little biased because I had a 2010 GS before getting my 2017. GS' are the best daily driver ever made in my opinion. Enough sport to be fun, luxurious, reliable, and not too bad on gas. Sure some cars are faster or have better mpg but they don't check all the boxes I've stated.
@MeynMotorGroup
@MeynMotorGroup 3 ай бұрын
The only benefits Stinger has over the GS is it's significantly faster, has some leftover warranty as you mentioned, and interior *looks* more premium with more features but the GS will drive better, ride better, feel more substantial on the road, and despite not being as fast as the Stinger, the Engine sounds much better with the GS so overall a more exciting driving package and Interior will feel more solid than the Stinger despite it not looking as nice or modern. Most of all You will be tired of the Stinger after 6 months much like with most modern turds. Lexus GS, IS, RC, LC these cars you can drive for 10+ years and never feel bored of it.

I liked the way the TL drove a little more than the TLX, 4th Gen TL felt like a more substantial car TLX felt lighter on its toes the only one I liked was the A Spec V6 SH-AWD (TLX I’m referring to is from 2015-2020) GS vs TL I guess I would go GS as it’s RWD and has a better interior space

I can tell ya one thing with AWD vs. RWD, RWD will be less costly when it comes to future engine service. Example: A front timing cover oil leak is an engine out job on an AWD and not on a RWD. There's so much more space on a RWD car when it comes to service on oil leaks. As these cars age there will be future oil leaks. That was a big factor I considered when I bought my GS since I'll never sell it.

some people argue that the 8 speed is better, others praise the 6 speed. I've heard good things about both, but the benefits of the 8 speed are somewhat negligible. The 6 speed hunts less, and is found it many other toyota products such as the tundra and the sequoia, but its old tech. I have the 6 speed, solid so far, just lacks a true dedicated tranny cooler in this application.

I have the 15 fsport with the 8speed. It takes a minute to find a gear when you floor it. If you like sporty driving you will probably like the 6. But the 8 is fun when you put it in manual. BUT the 8 speed is smooth af when driving normal

My 2014 GS with 175k miles burns oil, unfortunately. I need to top off every 2,500 miles or so. I haven’t seen anyone else experience this. Maintenance wise, I have replaced the CV boots, an axel, and the radiator hose since I bought it with 160k miles. I also repaired a small leak in the differential.

What do you think a fair price would be for a private party 2017 base AWD model w/ 95k miles or so if very clean? Seems dealer trade-in price has dropped quite a bit since earlier in the year but maybe tough to negotiate the used price still. He was asking 26.3k for it earlier in the year but still has it. Not sure how much I can talk him down or at what price point it would be worth it. Does have a 3rd party warranty on it for another 7 months which could help.

So to determine the value of any used car my friend, all you have to do is go to CarGurus how I showed in the video and manipulate the parameters to meet a 2017 GS 350 AWD and do a nationwide search. There’s only a handful of cars meeting those parameters but around $23k is what you should be paying with that type of mileage. Again, you can use CarGurus to determine the price of any car and search nationwide

Major problem. Don’t ever park it front first down hill or on a driveway with a slope. The vehicle will spew water out of the dash when you drive. 3 months in the shop for an engineer from Lexus to say we don’t know why it does this everything is as it should be. This was on a 2016 certified vehicle. It’s a design flaw with the ac system.
