Nicely done review, however as a GSF owner i have a few thing to add in. 1. MY 2016 does not have VAS (vehicle adaptive suspension) and they tend to last longer. MY 2017 and later has VAS 2. The GSF does not have rear wheel steering. I believe the regular 350 does (i know the RC350 does) 3. All the Carbon Fiber you saw there are cover lay by a sheet of CF and then sealed in epoxy. 4. Many of these Lexus RCF/GSF now suffer interior CF epoxy delaminating. 5. For me the insurance coverage is actually cheaper than my 2007 Acura TL 😂…. Yes i was like “how” as well. These car are fun to drive and they knowing to be bullet proof if properly taken care. Fun fact the GSF production run from 2016-2020. According to Lexus only 2484 units ever sold in the USA , if you own one congrats. 2016 - 1416 units sold 2017 - 482 2018 - 294 2019 - 127 Also note in MY2020 all the grey mirror and exterior door pillar are now black. Orange brake caliper option got replaced by blue caliper. On specs sheet these car very hard to sell when new because price tag. However used market they become the best bang for your buck to buy.

@truonghthe Жыл бұрын
@@boxoffisa I wouldn’t classify as muscle car. If anything in term IMO this is a Japan M5 detuned. The problem is when these car was new, the only way to sell it is with a big chunk of discount. After chatting with a local GSF owner, one of them told me that he bought his 2018 GSF in atomic silver for $72k OTD back in 2018. Unlike the ISF (basically is a skunk works vehicle, chassis not design from ground up to handle the 2UR-GSE motor). The RCF is a 3 car that build into one, only the GSF is a dedicated platform build from the ground up to handle the 5.0 motor. The IS500 Fsport is a left over part bins car. So in between ISF, RCF and GSF. The GS is the rarest and last of the True F built.

I own the "regular" 2015 GS F-Sport V6 variant, and it is hands down the best vehicle I've owned and still my daily driver today. Only 76k miles on it and the only maintenance I've done in my entire ownership is the routine maintenance. These cars are becoming rarer to see on the streets and I get compliments all the time and thumbs up when I pump gas or come to a red light. I often get the "Hey nice ride" Many think it's a newer model but then when I tell them it's 2015 the look on their face is priceless. These 4th Gen GS models are what BMW was in the late 90 into the early 2000s. A true luxury sports sedan with amazing handling, steering, craftsmanship, and a smooth but quick naturally aspirated engine (inline 6 for BMW) but without all the drama and headaches. They drive like a go-cart on rails with honest road feedback, unlike 99% of cars today. I love my GS and wish Lexus could bring them back, but unfortunately, in an SUV mall parking society, we won't see them around. This generation of GS is the last of the best modern "analog feeling" sports sedans without all the frills and latest tech but simple and a damn joy to drive. Do yourself a favor and pick up a used one if you can find a clean one but you'll pay a premium today in this crazy market.

Hello! First of all I would like to tell you how much I appreciate all the things you do and I only wish all mechanics were like you! Unfortunately I live in a small country in Europe (Slovenia) and we just don't have mechanics of your level. Anyway, I'm just thankful I found you and I hope you'll keep doing what you do forever! The information you give out just can't be found in other online sources so you're really really valuable to all of us. I have recently purchased my first ever Lexus - a 2018 GS450h (2018 is the last year GS's were sold in Europe). It is a really great example - Luxury package, beige interior with bamboo inserts and triple beams. It has 80k miles and it was a first owner car, owned by a Lexus dealership owner and was only driven in summer (he had 2 other cars for winter). Of course it has full service history at Lexus dealership (however 10.000 mile interval - it's unreal to expect someone would do 5.000 mile intervals here and especially for such a rare care). You can see some pictures in the attachment. I decided for this model because it's the only one that meets my power needs and also has a great V6 which is probably the last one I'll ever be able to have (Europe is much more strict about the emissions than US and it's hard to find anything more than 2.0 4 cylinder engine in any car). I watched basically all of your videos (including the Q&A's) and I noticed you rarely mention 4th generation GS's generally and even less so the GS450h. That's, of course, expected, because they're very rare both in Europe and in USA. The only time you mentioned it was when you said that it was somewhat "experimental" and that it wouldn't be your choice (it was the video of best and worst Toyota/Lexus models). My questions would be as follows: 1. What do you think about this engine (2GR-FXE)? Do they have any chronic problems? I've seen some information online about scuffing of the 5th cylinder because of a design flaw. Do you maybe know how prevalent this problem actually is? IIRC it's a problem relevant for all 2GR engines. Is there also the timing cover leak issue on this engine? I know they're rare engines but with your super comprehensive knowledge you might have some info anyway. 2. Is the FXE version more similar to the FSE or to the FKS? I am aware of the atkinson cycle but I'm asking more from the engine parts point of view, for example, does it have a plastic valve cover? 3. Do you maybe know if this exact D4S system also prevents carbon buildup? Because I read somewhere that the indirect injection is only used at idle (which could mean it's not as effective in preventing carbon buildup). 4. I bought 4 original Toyota filters from an original parts store (not the dealership though). 3 of them are made from orange paper and one is made from yellow paper (I understand that there was a change of materials use for the original filters). However I found that 2 of the orange filters have "TOYOTA" written on one of the ribs, but the third one DOES NOT. Did you ever encounter such a filter? Could it be fake? Just to add - I closely inspected everything you mentioned in the video about fake parts and it all looks legit, except from what I just mentioned. I would really love your insight on this, but I do understand you're super busy :) Thank you so much and keep up the awesome work you do!

That's when Lexus lost music customer. Imagine even a slow tap from the car in front of you backing up in the damage it'll cause to that grill.

Always wanted one of these. But I think the new IS series looks better. I wish they did a final facelift to make it look more modern before they did away with it.

Brakes are quite pricy, but you probably don’t need to replace rotors with every brake job. I’m not sure if he mentioned the staggered wheels. Another thing to consider as you’ll be buying new tires more frequently and you’re looking at around 900 per axle installed. I love my GSF but it ain’t cheap! Excellent sound system too.

No shop would do my brakes without also doing rotors, and I’m not one to abuse brakes. Got hit with tires and brakes all at once. Expensive year. Great car though!

I drive a 2017 GS350 AWD (Canada) and love it! I'll be selling it in the not too distant future and will look for a Lexus certified GS F. I won't be in Canada when that happens.

I've owned a 2017 for 2 years. Had zero issues. Brake pads are super easy to change and imo should be changed with aftermarket pads. OEM leave heavy amounts of brake dust. Other than that....👌

My mom had a GS Fsport. Hurricane Harvey put it in water that was several inches above the door sills. So much for that car. Less than a year old when that happened. My Prius still had temporary license plates. Didn’t even make a payment on it yet. ☹️

AMD, Love your videos! A few points, First, to my surprise my insurance only went up around $20 a month when I replaced my TRD Camry with a low mileage 2016 GS-F. Second, front brakes can be replaced for around $300 on rock auto using quality parts. (Brembo pads with sensors and dynamic friction coated rotors) Rears can be had for around $280 on rock auto as well using the same brand parts as the front The car is very DIY friendly, much more so than it’s German competition! It’s worth mentioning that the torque vector modules on the sides of the rear diff actually take WS trans fluid and should be serviced regularly!

IMO, I am amazed how much the wheels and the grill of a car often determine the overall beauty of a car. I really like the wheels on this Lexus.

A benefit of being around awhile is that you have a point of reference and Alcantara is just a trade name for microfiber made of polyester & polyurethane. When I was younger they used to sell Ultrasuede fabric made of nylon which was also made by Toray. Which do you think is more durable microfiber made of polyester or microfiber made of nylon? It's all about the marketing folks.

Shame that Lexus stopped updating this GS in 2016 as it fell behind the E Class and 5 Series in the segment before Lexus waved the white flag. Akio Toyoda almost canceled the car earlier too. A solid car with good styling, I got to drive a friend's GS350 for a trip too, but the infotainment was sadly hard to use, but if you have one, definitely get the aftermarket Carplay. The GS F was the pinnacle of all GS's.

The GS F Sport came with rear steering. Mine is a 2013 model and it is equipped with it. As a result, the car handles incredibly. The transmission is also, not very quick. It is an Aisin unit, different model from the GSF. It looks like Aisin just doesn't produce more aggressive transmissions. A ZF would be a better option. My other complaint is the paint quality. Chips way too easy. Otherwise, great cars. The GSF is super rare, and very expensive.

I have the 2016 Lexus GSF in Canada and it looks exactly as the model above, minus the plastic pieces located on the middle of the doors. A couple of differences which is cool is that the Canadian edition has rear seat controls in the back. It controls the rear seat heating and radio so my kids change change the station and volume. On the front console the carbon fibre is replaced with carbon fibre reinforced polymer which has a different look, more like marble. Also the trunk is powered and there is a close button. Other than that I think it is the same. I have a 2011 Toyota Highlander and I change the brakes every 1.5 - 2 years and it costs about $500 for pads and rotors. I got my GSF in 2019 for 60k CAD with about 80,000 kms (60,000 miles) at an exotic car dealer. It is at 105,000 kms now. I missed out on a slightly used 2016 Blue GSF with 6,000 kms for $66,000 CAD from a Lexus dealer, which would have been amazing back then. I just replaced the transmission oil and Lexus reported that the front pads still have 8mm and the rear have 6 mm and I've never changed them yet. It will be expensive but I think since they are so meaty and I don' drive with such a lead foot and heavy on the brakes (like my wife in the highlander), they are actually costing me less since I've never had to do them yet. Insurance wise, they are charging me the same as the Lexus GS since I guess there are so few of these models to base the rates off of, so it's about $100/mth here which is actually pretty cheap (for Canada). As another owner mentioned it has the regular original suspension, not the variable one, but I like it as it's sporty and firm, but not hard and unpleasant. My previous car was a manual IS 250 from 2006, so it's quite the upgrade for me and this model fits my wife and 3 kids now in the back where the IS 250 was too small in the rear. When I got the car I also had some ceramic coating applied so it looks good after each hand wash. Overall so far it's an amazing car. One mf my favourite features is the Mark Levinson stereo which sounds amazing. It always makes me want to spend more time in the car. I've never seen another GSF on the road, only a few GS 350s which makes it feel special. This is car I don't think I will sell as it is so special and probably one of the kids will get it when they are older, and I'm dead :)

Great review, it's always amazing to watch your content. I wish I bought this in 2020, also the F was too expensive $85K+ but Americans chose ES over the GS350 and that killed the entire GS line, real sad. The Infotainment is a major bummer for this vehicle. That said the engine lives on in the IS500 F Sport Performance now, it is perhaps a tad less expensive to maintain due to no Trans and Oil cooler yea they are a negative for track. And there's no TVD in the rear you just get a Torsen LSD and the front is all AL like GS. The interior is inferior on IS vs the GS line and no leather and premium wood only Nuluxe. Also made in Japan. looks super aggressive too. I really love the true F cars they are a total different league but sadly they are too expensive, I would get a GS F CPO but not the ones which are tracked hardcore and it's pretty hard to find one for cheap and low mileage, 65K you can get a brand new IS 500 perhaps that's really a better deal today in 2023.

Basically, my brakes suck. 2018 RAV4. They are mushy and work very poorly especially in a panic stop. Took to dealer and they said nothing wrong. If you pump them they do stiffen up. Noticed they work better when the computer takes over i.e. following to close or another car cuts me off. Software problem? Twisted o ring in master? Thanks. Great channel.
