I review the ILX with a MT after 8 months of daily driven ownership.

Thanks for the review. I have a silver 2013 ILX 2.4. I got it two years ago. I love it just as much as the day I got it. It's peppy, reliable and rare. Nobody has one. I got mine with 108k for 8200. I looked them up the other day there going for 15k with 100k on them. I got lucky.

Just picked up a 2013 2.4l and came from civic > integra > rsx and so far pleased. Like you said it has the "little" things that made me choose it over an SI like keyless/backup cam and the overall rarity of the 2.4 6mt. Only issues so far is bad mileage but it is likely tires and I'm all city driving. The 2.4l is a completely different beast from the 2.0l. The 2.0l reviews were horrific and I think a lot of people dismissed the ilx overall because of the devastating reviews. I do miss the hatch, I dislike the infotainment look and some of the ways it functions but I feels solid. Much more solid than the rsx. I'd place this as the replacement for the csx type s rather than the tsx, although newer gens seem to be coming closer to the tsx. Just my thoughts

How are you liking it still? I have an RSX Type S right now and I am contemplating on buying one of these.

Great review, thanks for posting. I found a smoking deal on a 2013 2.4 locally and I'm contemplating pulling the trigger to use it as a commuter car. I'm currently driving a 2009 TSX Tech, so it'll likely be a bit of a downgrade, but I'm about to hit the 200K mark on the TSX, and it's had a great life.

What's a smoking deal on one of these? Only one in my area for $15k, 60k miles

Not a downgrade at all. You're actually upgrading with the push to start and back up camera

i’m thinking about getting a 9th gen civic si but idk for some reason i just started getting interested in the ilx, my mom has a 2015 ilx and man oh man press on the gas a little bit and she’s gone and she has an automatic lol, a selling point for me is the 2.4 6 speed, only thing i don’t like is the leather seats though and it feels small inside to me

do you have an updated video on what it's like 1 or 2 years into ownership? STill like it?
@jonathans45035 ай бұрын
For me it's the opposite. I came from an 09 elantra to this car, besides the sport mode and paddle shifters, it didn't really wow me that much. Looking to upgrade to a genesis g80 or g70 now.

But they made the TSX of the same year with a 6 speed/2.4 combo, what's the point of getting this? The TSX is better looking, only difference I can imagine is it would be slightly heavier

hmmm good point

same year tsx is big and heavy, uglier too compare to the 1st gen tsx.

Does the car hold its value? It sounds like it has depreciated a lot already even though it’s a Honda which usually hold their value. Looking at one of these in my area.

awesome review! thinking of picking up a 2013 2.4L ILX with 46k miles on it for $16,000 Like you said this would be ideal for someone older and a bit more mature I am almost 28. Do you think I am getting a good deal and also it's my first manual transmission vehicle I was wondering if it was a good car to learn on and if it had rollback assist. Thank you!
@TheOneInTheFields6 жыл бұрын
Hey Vats, I would say that that price is average for that mileage. My family owns a 2013 2.4L ILX and I actually learned manual on it. I think it’s definitely a good vehicle to learn, and yes, it does have rollback assist for hills. If you do end up getting it, I hope you enjoy!

Hey man, nice review. You're right, these cars are rare and not many people do know about the si engine. Do you use regular or premium fuel? I understand premium is recommended, but not required. Also, how is the sound in the cabin?
@vcadv28227 жыл бұрын
Hey Roger, apologies for the late reply! I put premium fuel but did try a couple weeks with regular. With 87, the car returned about the same gas mileage but was noticeably more sluggish so I switched back to 91. The sound in the cabin is honestly not that bad - having moved from an integra, sound insulation is way better. It's worst on the highway but it's far from what I would consider intolerable. Plus I have a podcast or music playing 80% of the time, coupled with active noise cancellation, noise definitely has not bothered me whatsoever.
