My mom was pretty much forced to buy a 2019 accord with a 1.5 and cvt. She had a worn out kia and was able to trade it for the accord that had 14000 miles on it. I really hope you are wrong about the 1.5 turbo engines. She has put a lot of miles on it so far, and I make sure she does oil changes every 5000 miles. So once again I hope you are wrong about the 1.5. Honda makes great engines so I think it will be a fine car for her.

@KingdomAuto Жыл бұрын
Totally agreed about the smaller displacement turbo engines, there’s just no way we’re going to see the same reliability as a simple naturally aspirated setup. I’m sure they’ll continue to improve as time passes but I’d still take one of Honda’s 2.0 or 2.4L engines over their 1.5 turbo any day of the week. I had an Accord with the 2.4 in it, drove it till 400,000kms then gave it to a friend, she’s still driving it and it’s still going strong 💪🏻

I agree 100%. My previous two vehicles had the Ford 1.0l turbo EcoBoost; one of them manual transmission, the other with that dual clutch transmission. I just traded the latest one in for a Mazda CX-5 2.5 non-turbo. One of the things like most about the vehicle is the drivetrain, straightforward 4 cylinder with a more traditional automatic transmission. Those little engines are too high strung, and I learned the hard way with the first car that small problems escalate very quickly when you're trying to ring out so much power from such a small engine. Also, it's nice to drive a non-turbo around town, the power delivery feels smoother from a stop in stop and go traffic, it's a nice change. Also, I managed to get 33mpg on a recent road trip (calculated at the pump, not relying on the dashboard computer readout), driving sensibly. I'm more than happy with that from a midsized crossover SUV with AWD. I think I'll have this vehicle for many miles, it's nice to drive a vehicle with a bigger N/A engine for a change, as opposed to the little turbos I've had for the last 9 years.

2016 and up ILX is basically an automatic 9th gen Civic Si. The DCT transmission in sports mode is a lot of fun, shifts precisely and feels like a manual when you paddle shift. It does rev match so there is no bumping off the redline sadly. As a commuter vehicle it is perfect for the city and just fast enough to keep you entertained while driving to work. I have the exact same vehicle with the same powertrain, but a couple of years older. This combination of the K24 engine with one of the best DCT's ever made in a regular car is such a dream to drive. It's sad that Acura decided to kill this vehicle instead of continuing it in the market. The only reason why the car wasn't selling as much is because they let it sit without any redesign! The fallacy to think you can resurrect the integra name and just sell with the name but be a carbon copy of the civic with a small turbo and a CVT. This ILX was only a civic in size, the powertrain was completely different and that's what made it stand out and be fun. I love hearing my K24 rev and the quick and smooth shifts. In sport mode it really springs from a stop and takes other more expensive cars by surprise.

I swapped every other week with my wife for my BMW 325 Stick, since the GSR was so much fun to drive. The NEW stock Integra is disappointing, unless you go for the fire-breathing version. I had the WRX, so I HAD the fire-Breathing experience, and wanted something a little more comfortable (WRX is a sports car, not a hot sedan). Civics are not as reliable as they once were. Might want to rethink that unless you are willing to live with the base level civic 2.0 liter sport or LX with no frills. I have been driving Civics for the last 25 years, won't buy another until they kill the 1.5l turbo which they are putting in the new Integra as well. I'll pass on all that. Do your research before you buy. I did, and I ended up buying the ILX and I am glad. Coming from a 2008 Honda Civic Si 8th gen, I test drove a 2022 Honda Civic Si and it is crap. Dash has a chain link fence across it and the interior felt very tight, tighter than the ILX. It felt sluggish compared to my 2008 Si and it was not fun to drive like my 2008 Si. Feels huge and clumsy compared to my 2008 Si and I hate seeing the hood sticking out in front. I also hate oil dilution issues and having to change my oil more than I should.

The ILX is based on the Civic from 2 generations ago, a Civic that was not that well thought of by reviewers. It needed to be replaced, compared to an Audi A3 or even a Mazda3 Turbo the ILX was noisy and harsh. I hate that Honda did not include the dual clutch with the Integra.

Convinced the wife to sell her 19 Optima after we scored a deal on a 2011 Corolla S owned and dealer maintained by an old couple for 5.5k 100k miles. She was sold after I showed her how easy it was to Install an Aftermarket Android Auto/Carplay system. Now I can sleep in peace knowing I won't have to deal with a Kia Breaking down.

I totally agree... I would rather have a normally aspirated 2.4L than a ridiculous 1.5 with a turbo for the same horsepower, but now you have worse gas milage and you have turbo lag where you didn't before.

ILX was based off the Civic and the Integra (as it's always been) is also based off Civics. So to me, the ILX replaced the RSX (Integra) so it's okay that the new Integra replaced the ILX because fundamentally they are all the same car anyway, a luxurious Civic.

I have 8 months left on my 2021 ILX lease.. considering the buy out at $17,000. my only concern is a slight trans knock in low gear when I remove my foot from the gas and replace it on the gas? is that the double clutch?

Might be the trans mount, i have the same issue i’ll try replacing it myself it’s 200$ but the dealer’s not doing crap, maybe get a diagnosis first, also change trans fluid every 10/30k

I have 2018 tlx 2.4 the only gripe at traffic lights or at stops there is a annoying vibration that emits a noise the can be heard in the car squeaking rattle that comes and goes not sure if it is linked to having it in eco mode idle get too low sometimes in drive at stops
@tonythemadbrit9479 Жыл бұрын
I have the same car and had the same at about 120,000 miles. I put in new spark plugs and it runs like new. My only gripe is the over sensitive auto braking that sees a vehicle in front slowing down (usually to turn right) that really isn't a hazard and needlessly jumps on the brakes. It doesn't happen much but when it does, I'm looking in the mirror waiting to be rear ended. Even if I press full throttle the car applies heavy braking.

If I take it easy on the gas I get 34 mpg combined. I rarely take it easy on the gas which makes me average 29 mpg combined. Coming form 25 mpg driving slow in my 2008 Civic Si, 29 mpg is good for me especially since I can get on it a little and have fun.
