Why the CR-V gets those seats and RDX doesn't is a mystery. Could be because the Acura seats are more sculpted and comfortable. No hidden storage or full sized spare (or power port for that matter). The back end of the Acura is sloped more. It's amazing what a few inches either way will do when you're trying to get large rectangular objects in the back.

I LOVE your reviews Tom. And the 'evil twin' gag is absolutely unique and fun! You deserve a hefty raise, sir!

Acura RDX turbocharged was unrefined, turbo lag, and have linear problem. I am super glad that they got rid of that and just put V6 engine while improve fuel economy.

I shoot 1080i 30fps. Actually I feel pretty lucky, the group that has ended up subscribing here is a very civil bunch compared to what I normally see on KZbin. And I like to offer up some semblance of quality, it's what I'd like to see if I were looking for reviews to watch.

Great review. It's nice to see where Acura seems to be headed with their RDX. Glad they changed that front styling, but still feel like Acura needs to take a greater risk when it comes to design, be a leader. Very nice car and great value.

Tom I'm in Seattle if you ever need an assistant camera man or whatever. I love your reviews. I met you at the Queen Anne QFC when I worked there. You have some of the best reviews I've seen. Always look forward to new stuff. I need your job!:)

It is the same SUV basically. Did you see the Honda label on the components under the vehicle? I wouldn't pay 15-20k more for some bodywork and an unneeded V6.

not in regards to the price.. but the overall performance / comfort package in regards to the RDX

I totally agree. I like the current MDX, but the next generation MDX is going to be larger, and more boring looking. I guess they decided not to compete with sportier offerings like the X5.

You may want to consider the RDX vs the GLK Class, the ML is a bit of a step up, and certainly nicer.

hey Tom, when you press the start button, does it have to be held down while the starter cranks? In any of the vehicles I have driven, one push and release of the button will crank the starter, no need to hold it down. Just curious if this is the case with all OEMs.
@T966ER12 жыл бұрын
nice! I wish I had to make that choice, both great cars, the X5 is about due for a redesign, but it's easily one of my favorite luxury SUVs.

While I agree with you on all points,..we didnt buy enough of the old RDX's for Honda to justify dropping another 20-30 million to design a car for us. If the first gen RDX sold like the inferior first gen BMW X3, then this latest RDX would have a turbo and SH-AWD.

Why does Acura have to hide all of the exhausts pipes? In the case of this RDX and TLX, it manages to look like those Ford Crown Victoria with duel exhausts.

Of course, but realistically the differences between the two are narrowly quite substantially. No SH-AWD anymore. The reason why anyone should pay the premium is dwindling. it's just my opinion.

I was originally going to write something about competency and trust when buying a $40K car, and some other slobbery, semi-emotive crap. (Yuck!!) I'll just summarize it with two words..... .....new subscriber.
@gheffty9312 жыл бұрын
The RDX is a good deal comparably but if you want a real lux SUV get one that doesn't cost-cut so much. The fact that the rear seat doesn't slide or tilt back and the lack of HVAC back there attest to this. No panoramic sunroof is disappointing and it is just way too bland for its own good. They needed a better balance between the old one and the new one. The old one was too rough but the new one is just boring. I'd take a Q5 over it.

Im a honda acura guy but this along with everything else they've had out the last few years is no impressive. This rdx doesn't even have chrome tipped exhaust. That really would make it look alot better and look more like a luxury suv like its competitors. The "tech" in here is the same shitty nav they have been using since 2004. It looks cheap, isnt good and acura used to be all about tech. They have fallen behind. Buy something else, this things a wash.
