Fascinating. After the lap time we posted it does seem like the M6 couldn't go much faster. Amazing that people slam that car for having "only" 450 hp. It uses that power VERY effectively.

You're not far off. In our testing the Boss 302 did a 1:21.450 time on our track compared to a 1:20.367 in the RS5.

It's quite obvious that the M6 would have won, though based on the surprisingly fast lap time of the RS5 it may have been much closer than anyone would have guessed. It would have been nice to find out.

Okay when you mention "On par" with the ZL-1; are you saying that they are dead even or is the RS5 close in time to the ZL-1 on your test track; which one went faster is what I am saying? "On par" is gray area wording by nature! Thanks..

This was initially supposed to be a shootout between the RS 5 and M6, but BMW wouldn't let us take the car out on the track.

There already is a car that is nearly as capable on the track for half of the price if you can do without leather. Its called a Boss 302.

They’re much faster than the stated times from Audi. Mine is tuned and my best timed 0-60 (I’ve done better, but not timed on dragy) was 3.74.

LOL, spoken like true "doesn't know what he is talking about" dunce. probably some high school kid. if you knew anything you would know the rs5 has a torque vectoring differential that eliminates understeer in the rs5. the problem is, 90% of the people don't have any idea how to drive the car. with a tv diff you apply gas instead of brakes going into a turn which eliminates understeer. so before mouthing off, go out and learn how to drive a car.
