Hello and welcome to Saabkyle04! KZbin's largest collection of automotive variety! In today's video, we'll take an up close and personal, in depth look at the all new 2013 Cadillac XTS
MSRP pricing for the XTS, before options, starts at:
Base: $44,075
Luxury: $48,690
Premium: $53,585
Platinum: $58,160
During this presentation, we will take a 1st person look at what the vehicle is all about beginning with the start up, performance data, fuel economy, the occasional track data, and build quality. Also, I will teach you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership yourself! Throughout the video, I will highlight key styling and unique differences about the vehicle, any available options, and of course it would not be an enthusiast car video without the good ole engine portion with rev and exhaust note with interior and exterior perspectives. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE CHANNEL SEE BELOW: In this channel you will find in depth educational videos of automobiles from all over the world, presented in a more detailed fashion than ever before. Basically, this gives the viewer the chance to view the most detailed 1st person look you can get without going to an actual dealer yourself! Every video is consistent in the way I present so viewers know what to expect in my presentations. I treat every vehicle with the same respect whether a 1960 Chevrolet Impala SS or the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador. I film all types of vehicles from past, present, and future while broadening the knowledge of the automotive enthusiast. You will see everything from vintage, brand new, exotic, mainstream, old, etc. I am very proud of this channel and have built it up from amateur videos years ago to what you see today. I wanted to share my love for the automotive world with the rest of the world. Be sure to explore the massive video variety, have fun and enjoy The Driver's Seat of KZbin!

+Prog X If you like the big american cars, I would suggest any of the older Cadillac's like the Deville, Seville, Eldorado, STS or DTS with the Northstar V8 engines. They are much better in many ways over the XTS. I have been around them all for many years and I prefer the older Cadillac's and recommend those more.

With a rev limiter at 6500rpm (the circle with numbers 1-7 is called the techometer) you wont be able to get to the 7 the needle on your techometer when either revving to high or smashing on take off. It will stop at 6.5. I just felt like saying this...RPM = Rev's/Revolutions per Minute (If your cruising at 2000RPM, it takes the Crackshaft pulley to rotate 2000 times in one minute). Crackshaft pulley moves the pistons up & down, also turns other pulleys i.e. Pwr steering, Water pump, A/C, etc.

+CharleyDHobo The Deville/DTS was truely the last real Cadillac and also the only Cadillac that offered that old school ride, feel and muscle V8 power and sound. They are still very popular and in more demand than the XTS that replaced the DTS. I have both an 05 Deville and 06 DTS and I am not selling them. We shall see how the new CT6 will fare or if its another flop.

+FloridaClay Seems like a nice car but that generic V6 seems like a slap in the face for Cadillac traditionalist. I feel they should've kept using the Northstar for this model.
@FloridaClay
@FloridaClay 8 жыл бұрын
Nothing lost in my view. The Northstar was last used in the 2010 DTS and produced 292 HP and 288 ft lb·of torque. The standard 6 in the XTS produces 304 HP and 264 and ft lb·of torque and is a smooth engine with plenty of power in my experience. I am also averaging, from out the dealer’s door through about 16,000 miles, 26 MPG in mixed driving. And you can get a twin turbo 6 that produces 410 HP and 369 ft lb·of torque if you need an extra kick.
@starxlr7863
@starxlr7863 8 жыл бұрын
+dstarks80 I agree Cadillac should have continued using the Northstar V8 but maybe updated it a bit to compete with some of the newer competitors. It was an impressive drivetrain and is still one of Cadillac's longest production V8's. Cadillac's just don't seem right with having a V6......they deserve V8 only.

I still like the physical button to control the AC and media, like bmw iDrive or Audi MMI. Once you familiar with those button, you can use them without glance while you are driving. The touch surface and touch screen always do the wrong things, you have to see the surface area to control, super annoying and dangerous on highway.

The Northstar sucked. Sure it was good when it came out but GM did nothing to improve it. It still blew head gaskets, powered the front wheels for the majority of time and was hooked up to a 4 speed auto which sucked dick. GM used 4 speed autos until 2011 when Germans started using a 5 speed in 1992, 6 speeds in 2001 and 7 speeds in 2003.

+curtis turner Yes the DTS is still popular with many current Cadillac customers. I work at a GM dealer and most Cadillac customers prefer the older Cadillac's much more. I drive a 2005 Deville and it is a very satisfying and enjoyable car to own. It was sad to see the DTS discontinued after 2011 which the XTS replaced.
@HoodStar413z
@HoodStar413z 8 жыл бұрын
Hahah i made that mistake to get the DTS! Worst! Car! Ever! Made! My 1990 Cadillac DeVille was Comfort! Able to fit 6 people with out being uncomfortable! Trunk space from Hell!! And the best part was that a 6ft driver could move his seat back and there could be a 6ft passenger in the back , an he would still have leg room for days. Also the DTS and XTS suspension suck. Magnetic Suspension is the worst most firm suspension on the planet! Its like putting coil overs on a Cadillac then adjusting the damper to "Feel Every Bump"
@starxlr7863
@starxlr7863 8 жыл бұрын
Gucci Goon Well then you didn't have the DTS. The DTS is the BEST modern day brougham and doesn't even compare to the XTS. Magnetic ride is very high tech and extremely comfortable riding system that rivels even the most upscale modern day rides. Several new GMC trucks now use the same Magnetic ride system that Cadillac uses. I work at a Cadillac/GM dealer and its the Deville/DTS cars that are very popular and in high demand over the newer Cadillac models. Only the Escalade is just as popular.
@starxlr7863
@starxlr7863 8 жыл бұрын
Gucci Goon Don't know what you mean with saying that a 6 ft driver can have the seat all the way back and still have enough room for another 6 ft passenger.....when the seat is all the way back in any car, there is always less room from behind. Also the trunk space is just as plentiful for both a 1990 Deville and a DTS. I been around both cars, and while both cars have great qualities, neither car is better than the other. They are cars from two different era's and they are both great choices.

I meant the 3000 rev limiter in park. The car can go up to 6500rpm before hitting redline in actuality. But when you're driving along, generally a car has a normal rev limiter right when you hit redline to prevent engine damage.

+AMCNorthstar 93 'Tis true, all good things do come to an end, the Eldorado, Seville, Allante; all lovely cars! I have a soft spot in my heart for Cadillac, even though I only like their pre-2000's models. I myself plan to buy a 9th generation 1988 Eldorado, only if I can ensure that spare parts are available and that it won't break down often! It's actually quite cool that you yourself work at a Cadillac dealer, you get to sell cars under the finest name in the business!

Tsar Alexander II of the Russian Empire Yes very much so! I have been around these cars all my life and my family has always owned a Cadillac. We currently own 10 different Caddy's years ranging from a 1959 Deville to an 06 DTS. The Eldorado, Seville, Deville, Fleetwood and the Allante are all my absolute favorite names from Cadillac just as the Continental. the Mark anf the Town Car is from Lincoln. I drive an 2005 Deville as my daily driver and believe it or not I get many compliments about it. Might be my age as not many young people drive a Cadillac Deville. Haha MY parents just recently bought the 06 DTS and its just an absolute wonderful car. I still recommend them to anyone I talk to and also current Cadillac customers. Now for the 1986-91 Eldorado, parts are very hard to get now especially body and interior parts. Engine parts are easy to get but not so much for the rest. I would suggest the 1992-02 Eldorado as there are many more of them and much easier to obtain parts for them. I have done so myself as I frequently go to various salvage yards and buy up tons and tons of Cadillac parts.

Yea i was kinda thinking of that when i bought my 2012 ML350, i got it in a darker grey and i love the color, you should check out how this car looks in grey, or even white which is also nice

the 3.6 is a good powerplant, I like it as much as old 3800. It's miles better than the Northstar v8 they've been using for decades

Decent car in particular for GM (the RWD-based CTS is better though) but might go off the deep end with all the electronics. I for one prefer having physical controls, but with displays where necessary. I can only wonder about the reliability. They are getting closer, but not at the top.

Jaguar in my opinion - jags are a bit more expensive but the new XJ is pretty epic. + you can get a jag with a V8 and they're all rear wheel drive. The XJ is a personal luxury sedan - many reviewers mention that despite its size it's a very enjoyable vehicle to drive.

This is a great review. Do you have one of the 2014 Cadillac CTS 3.6? Your reviews are spot on.

Nice review. But with all the options on the car, it's hard to believe the Ford Taurus has a seat massage option and the XTS doesn't.

Kyle, this might be a weird question, but considering that you've been inside every new car on this planet....would you say that each brand has their own "new car smell"? Are there cars/brands that stood out to you the most?
