2013 Chevy Equinox Noise Coming From Transfer Case

Had issues with 2 GM vehicles. They don't take of there customers anymore. Bought a Hyundai Santa fa. Very happy now.

128k miles on mine. Once I hit 5mph it make a noise but not like on this video. Can it be saved?

I had this same issue with my 2013 equinox. my car sat at dealership for over 3 months waiting for the part to come in from overseas. I was just informed yesterday that part was in, and I should have my car back by next week after they take it on the road. Cost over $2800 for labor and parts. If this is a on going issue, should there be like a recall? if a group of buyers get together, please let me know so I can put my name on the list of unhappy campers who are looking for a answer from GM...

This is exact noise my transfer case is making. Can this be due to low fluid only? I have read lot that can make grinding noise if low on fluid.

Hard to say , Just check and see if it is low on fluid . But if you here grinding noise there is a high chance on damage .

@@Juan-hn3fm this model is known for this, suppose to be normal because of the AWD 4x4 system, I deactivated the 4x4 by unplugging a connector on the wheel bearing. It turns off the 4x4 AWD and turns on the abs light but it runs smoothly

My 2012 Equinox had the same sound just financed it in June had it towed to garage they said it needs a transfer case and catalytic converter charging me $3820 for parts and labor had to get a loan to get it repaired hopefully get it back n a few days, I had no idea it could be that expensive

Probably just needed an oil seal for 23 bucks but tricked you into buying a complete new setup. Mechanics are sneaky like that 🤷‍♂️

OK good. That didn't sound remotely as bad as the "wheel bearing" noise I have in my 2010 AWD Equinox.

Mine is also a 2010 Lemon...I mean Equinox. And I was 100% convinced I had a bad front wheel bearing, but it's the transfer case. That's money I definitely don't have.

It seems like more and more of the gm transfer case problems showing up here at the shop .
