Kenneth ,i just wanted to thank you very much for such a cool video ,i guess even this days you still saving a lot of money for those who don t want to spend stupid money on stupid installation kits. your video is just genius,I took me three days instead of two because is the first time i try anything like this complex .I installed a alpine ilx -w650 which is half of the deep of a regular double din so i did not have to cut anything in the car except the bottom part ,everything is fully functional and the wiring diagram work perfect on my 2014 charger .Of course there is always someone that is going to complain about it or been a hater ,but to me you just save "Me" a lot of money , but i follow your video 100% and used a lot of patience . So I know this video is getting a bit old now but I have a 2016 charger that I'm looking to do something similar to except in the top I want to put a removable android tablet instead of a double din unit. But, I just wanted to comment and say that this video is awesome and really well explained!! I scour forums and KZbin looking for instruction and explanations and this is by far the most in-depth and detailed explanation and video I've seen of these types of projects. Keep up the good work!

So I know this comment is too late but I have done something similar on my 2014 charger. I used a dual din (no DVD player) which is only 2 inches thickness so I didn’t need to cut the plastic behind the screen. Also used the output audio of the dual din as an input audio to my aux factory system so I didn’t need to cut any wire but in general, your two videos were very helpful to the project I had done, thanks

Hey, a question about the original radio, would really appreciate your help! I got 2013 charger ex police and there is no AUX port to connect it at the center console. I'm trying to trace it back to radio, and at the back of radio I have 3 ports: (1) smooth plack wire (USB?), (1) multi pin from cd/ac, and one that you call power cord. Does this mean I don't have AUX? Is there a way to add it? Thanks in advance!

I'm thinking about putting the uconnect in the top left of the glove box. All the wires should reach. Just have to drill a hole big enough for the connectors to slide through. Then I'll most likely just velcro the uconnect in place so I don't have to do excessive drilling and planning on it.

Where are you located, I looked at a 2015 Charger today but I don't want to buy it if I can't go aftermarket everything as far as sound. I want to end up with a aftermarket deck, aftermarket door speakers and 3 rockford fosgate P2 subs in the trunk.

Lol you might reconsider when bluetooth starts acting like shit and all front speakers randomly stop working. The uconnect bullshit is the worst head unit I've ever came across. Factory or aftermarket. Dodge charges nearly $500 to replace the main unit which will also eventually cause the same problems.

How did you get the radio to turn on and off when you get in and out the car? Yellow is constant power and red ignition switch. (That's what it say on my radio instructions)

traie rogers connect it to a 12 volt wire. So that when u turn the car off the radio goes off too.
