Love that I'm watching this video, about to try and replace this alternator in a dang Meijer parking lot, and find out that y'all are in Detroit too. Come help me LoL 😆 For real tho- thank you for the video, it was just what I needed. I appreciate how you mention that you're just regular people- it's encouraging. I also especially like how you put everything back, instead of so many videos that just say, "Okay, now do it all in reverse and you're done." You've got a new subscriber. 🤘

I know this is video is an older video. But I’m curious if this dart is a 1.4L multi air turbo or not. I’m about to replace my alternator on my 13 dart limited. Was wondering if having a turbo would make this way of replacing it harder or if going through the passenger side axel would be easier

Great video.. might I suggest investing in a quality cam recorder.. great detail but top tier phone quality video. But you can help many beginner mechanics with these types of videos.

Thank you Dennis & Dave for taking time to make this video ! Very helpful to me today doing R & R of alternator today on 2013 Dart. A useful tip for this job, and other jobs involving serpentine belts, is to invest in a belt tensioner pulley wrench (long handle for max leverage and shallow depth 5/8" or 16 mm socket)....makes removal and reinstallation of the belt a breeze as you can easily get full range of motion on the tensioner pulley. Harbor Freight "Serpentine Belt Tool Kit" is only $18.99. Another Harbor Freight tool that saved me today on this job to access the lower alternator mounting bolts is their 3/8" drive T-Bar with Flexible Ratchet...www.harborfreight.com/t-bar-with-3-8-eighth-inch-flexible-ratchet-98484.html As you said, Dodge screwed up putting the A/C line in front of those bolts ! This wrench is a lifesaver when access is tight on any auto DIY job ! Thanks again for a great video !

I got a 2013 an it's got a bad alternator so it's like I lose power steering
@stringerb3153 жыл бұрын
Yes because I believe the steering is electric not hydraulic. If the alternator is bad, then the steering won't get enough power to run it.

PIA to do the belt is a bitch and came off on lower pully so had to remove passengerside tire and liner to reroute also the two lower bolts so tight and you cant use a breaker bar due to ac line in the way so had to drop ac compress to get to took 3 hours of hell
