I have gotta say that I've seen probably over 100 gaming setups and yours blew all the others out of the park. Absolutely amazing! I'm just dumbfounded at the effort and dedication it must have taken to do all that. You got an amazing setup and channel and for that you have 1 more subscriber

This is a great set up. I love the idea of those weird trays for tucking away controller cables, and emphasis on immediate playability. I'm genuinely shocked this video doesn't have more views, it's one of my favorite set ups I've seen on KZbin.
@curtiswilliams718710 жыл бұрын
Totally impressed. This had been a dream of mine most of my life. This set up is exactly the way I imagined it, including the two types of TVs. But I must say your collection is far more impressive than mine and waaaaaay more organized. Thanks for doing this so now I don't have to.

SIMPLY PUT...BRILLIANT!!!! Love how you did it on an angle like that, so it can all be enjoyed from the center of the room!!!!!

Everything about this video is a YES. I love the open concept, primarily because it gives the console the ability to breath (which is why I hate enclosed units/cabinets). I hope you never have to relocate. I don't want to imagine the pain of having to tear all of this down, pack it up, unpack it and set it all up again.
@herohunter819 жыл бұрын
This is fantastic! It's good to have all these systems for exclusive games. I've been buying all the consoles I missed out on and ones I use to own lately. I'm not a completionist with games I just want any game that was any good. Stuff like this makes life fun.

Great video and commentary. You are so efficient and I admire that. My compliment is also a slight criticism though too, because the room feels a little cold. All that cold hard efficiency needs a bit of cosy added to it. A nice comfy sofa, a beer fridge, some retro gaming memorabilia, etc etc. Still though, good work and I'll now watch part 2! :)
@HowToX10 жыл бұрын
DecimateZ I have no interest in video game memorabilia other than posters, and once I put my game collection back into the room, there will be no room for anything else. Definitely no fridge.
@DecimateZ10 жыл бұрын
That's fair enough. As much as I appreciate your collection though and the effort you have put into it, it's not how I'd have a games room...but hey, we are all different. Good videos though, I like how rather than just boast about your stuff, you actually give help and tips for others to use on their rooms. Probably the most informative video of it's type I've come across.

@dmworking24710 жыл бұрын
I think your setup is great, as you have said it is very efficient function over form. My setup involves about 15 systems with a switchbox between CRT, LCD and projector. The shelving and power and cabling is a real challenge to get right, so I know how much effort this takes. So many people have a bunch of retro consoles that gather dust because setting them up for a quick play becomes a chore. Well done, ignore the armcgair critics.

@HowToX11 жыл бұрын
In Part 2 I take a roller and paint the walls behind the systems. Just kidding. When someone sits and plays on this thing it's actually hard to see the back wall because there's a wall of consoles and shelving in the way.
@lightone0410 жыл бұрын
GamingTheSystems would still watch you paint the wall. Would be awesome if you come up with cool mural, I know it would be mostly blocked off but you could still see it from some angles. Put some LED lights on the back and make it pop. Its a very awesome set up.
@karlwalsh534010 жыл бұрын
GamingTheSystems I would be very tempted to paint that back wall black all over. It would make it look neater by camouflaging all the wires. It may also make it feel a bit more immersive when playing and make it easier to focus on the screen, similar to a cinema screen being surrounded by black!
@HowToX10 жыл бұрын
No, the wall is going to stay as is. Since they have a light color, they show up MORE in the video than normal because I have a huge set of lights shining on the setup, just for filming. Besides, black walls would blend in too much with the black systems, black trays, etc. Everything would be hard to see.
@karlwalsh534010 жыл бұрын
GamingTheSystems Very true about the systems not showing up. If you couldn't see them it would kind of defy they point of having them displayed. Awesome setup by the way! Very jealous!

Thats pretty awesome dude, i myself love the older games, so usually when a old game comes out like final fantasy 7 and 8 on steam i usually buy it, i just don't have a dedicated room to be able to do what you did. I like a lot of people just don't have the room so we end up getting rid of those old systems to save space. Also the job you did is very very clean man im impressed
@Logicfray10 жыл бұрын
I don't have very much room but made a small "retro" game area. I built a custom shelf for my systems. It is possible to do in a small space but I get what you are saying. I have about 12 systems hooked up on my setup ready to go. I couldn't see expanding much past that I just try to stick to games and systems I will actually play.

This is awesome. I'm planning on creating a small collection like this once I finish university. My plan was to have the N64/PS1/PS2/Xbox/GC/X360/PS3/Wii/Wii U/PS4/XBO/Switch all hooked up much like this video, along with all the games I have owned (meaning rebuy a few that have gone missing) as well as a few I missed. However, the more I watch these videos, the more I want to buy systems I missed. I now really want the NES/SNES/Megadrive/Dreamcast since I'd rather, much like you, play the games on their original systems. Until I finish university, money's a problem and I can't really do too much but the goal is to have something by the end of this year.

Thanks for doing this. It's fairly Spartan from the appearance. Very clean, and functional. While I don't have the quantity of systems you do, I have more than I care to display. 3:10 - shot of the Master System controller that had the cord coming out of the *side* of the controller (!?!?) instead of the *top* (you know - where it won't get in the way of your hands). Think that same model had a joystick in the middle of the D-pad (again, !?!?). Gotta say, even now, the basic SMS controller (smooth D-pad, cord-not-on-the-side) is one of my favorite console controllers of all time.

Very neat setup. I only have 6 consoles, so 4 of them go through a switchbox then out to my VCR, while the other 2 go through a different VCR (that acts as the switchbox) then out to the first VCR. Then it goes out to the TV, which is a ~20 inch CRT from the late 90's. I might do a video on it soon.

As a gamer since the original NES I have to agree that these older games look better on the old TV's. I have the original Wii that I keep around for the kids. I have downloaded some older games like Excitebike/Sonic/Mario Cart/ Bases Loaded/Mike Tyson's PO/etc...and all of them look better on a 20" screen I bought from the Salvation Army then the 55" LED I got from ABC Warehouse.
@joesmith2012128 жыл бұрын
the guy is very smart and very right to use a wire rack for all the systems, the wire rack will allow good air flow through all the systems, heat is the main killer of these old system, heat and dust are very damaging, so keeping them in the open air nad just vacuuming them out a little once a while is optimal way to preserve these babies.
