It feels like a very smooth shifting "gear" transmission and it doesn't have the "rubber bandy" dynamic under hard acceleration. The comment comes out of the fact I was driving it for a couple days and had that "ah-ha moment" when I remembered it was a CVT. The fact that it doesn't instantly feel like one is great.

people who are criticizing this vehicle havent driven it. its super quiet and very very comfortable.I am likely going to lease one instead of an mdx

No comments on this page in quite some time, so I'll dig in and say something. I own a black JX35 (2013---first year), and I love it!!!! I had to order mine because there weren't any dealers that carried the exact car I wanted. The vehicle I ordered has everything on it, and I mean EVERYTHING. I didn't cut corners anywhere. It was expensive, but I'm surprised at how many of these YouTub review videos don't talk about ALL of the hi-tech features this car has. It was covered in this video somewhat, but there is so much more to talk about. For example, in rush hour traffic on the freeway where traffic stops completely, then moves at 5MPH, then stops completely again, and that goes on for an hour----it's so easy in my car! All I have to do is steer. The car takes off on its own and maintains a safe distance to the car in front of me, and then automatically does a nice smooth stop when traffic stops. And I'm not touching anything but the wheel. First car I've ever been able to do that! The Bose 15 speaker system is awesome (the dealer will make you think 13 speakers is top of the line---it's not----there is one more level higher, and that is 15 speakers with Dolby Digital surround-sound 5.1. When someone is watching a movie in the back, we can play the sound over the car's Bose system (instead of the wireless headphones) and I swear the sound is better than a movie theater. I love my JX!!!! Actually, when my Infiniti Lease ran out at 39 months, I ended up buying my own car----that's how much I love this thing! And for those wondering about a QX60, yeah, that's the same as a JX35. A few months after I bought my car, Infiniti decided to change the names of ALL of their cars. What a dumb move that was. At least with JX35, you knew that JX was an SUV and 35 meant 3.5 liter engine. But QX60? Nope---it doesn't mean anything. All of their cars and SUVs now begin with the letter Q and have some random number after it. Why did they do that? So stupid.

Well Andy, looks like you should be writing car reviews! Glad you're enjoying your car. Cheers!

It's easy to override by continuing to steer. Like I said in the video, it feels like a crosswind so basically it's giving you feedback that you may not want to change lanes (along with a beep signal). It's not draconian, the balance is well done.

I think a brand new iPad 2 costs $399 because it says so on the Apple website. A referb can be had for $349 or $399 with 3G.

I don't like infiniti, but I must say, they did a good job on this one. That interior is awesome.

That's true. And you can also get a new iPad 2 for $440 with tax here in Washington state. That would be the one I'd give to a kid. Better yet, buy a referb for $50 less. I have have bought half a dozen Apple referb products and never had a problem.

I remember when my mom had a second gen Expedition 05 and her hands were tied up, she was cooking, cleaning and etc. And she sent my 18 yrs old brother to the supermarket, it's nothing wrong with giving your teen your car for important stuff like that; for joyriding w/ friends NO, but to go pick up some milk YES.

Another awsome review as always, thanks Tom. By the way, at one point it says, if we don't know it is a CVT, we'll feel it as a regular automatic transmission. Is that mean that when you use the auto mode you feel a shifting OR when you are in the manual mode you feel more sporty?

But, great review! I don't really agree with that D-pillar. It's unique but it looks like it was placed there as an afterthought.

The only reason to give the JX 35 to a teen is if he or she wants to take his or her friends to something formal like the prom. It may save a cost of renting a limo during that time. Right, parents?

Most parents giving their teens overpowered or oversized cars generally have some sort of trouble with authority. Committing to such a large purchase based on the preferences of your financially dependent children never ever makes fiscal sense, and that's before they even start getting into trouble with their 335is and Tahoes.

@aaronbehindbars12 жыл бұрын
Why would you give a teen a $55k CUV? Such a thing didn't exist when I was that age, but $35k Tahoes and the like did which was the closest 90s equivalent. Plenty of fellow students had expensive vehicles of their own while I drove a cheap old Mazda truck. Then, I was jealous, but now I just realize how foolish one is to give a novice driver such a vehicle.

Why JX35 and not JX37. Nissan/Infiniti should have put the larger 3.7 liter V6 with 328-330 h.p. instead of this weak underpowered 265 h.p. engine. look at the wide and long size of this vehicle. And let's not talk or look its weight. For 2013 all V6 Infiniti's were upgraded to the 3.7 liter. to include the EX and FX, even with corporate name change for 2014 the QX60 still has the underpowered 3.5 liter V6 the engine size is on the sides of the fenders. I wonder when for the 3.7 maybe 2015 QX60

I've seen the JX35 before, and quite frankly, I find it uglier than the QX60.
@JJFLD9 жыл бұрын
I do have to agree with you. The QX60 seams a bit softer than the JX35. The JX35 looks like a shark. A very angry one.
@jasoncarpp77429 жыл бұрын
JJ163 It's not a bad looking vehicle overall, it's the front end styling that I find to be the least attractive. Unfortunately all Infiniti have the same ugly front end styling.
@JJFLD9 жыл бұрын
Jason Carpp That's were the angry shark comes in.

@JJFLD9 жыл бұрын
Jason Carpp Yeah. To me, the JX35 and many Infiniti's front-end look like a shark. But hay, have you seen the Lexus NX F Sport? Tom Muchler from consuper reports says it looks like it eats children. AKA, Senderman's car.
