The mansion we filmed the opening at had an incredible driveway. One of those classic very long, tree-lined driveways you see in movies. "The Notebook" was actually filmed there, Boone Hall Plantation. For the older fans that's not Boone's Farm. :-) Thumbs up if you had to drink it! :-) Charlie@RoadflyTV

Thanks for letting the viewers know the JX's performance is greater than that of the MDX. My Mom is considering either the FX35 or the JX35 and my Dad I were trying to coax her into the FX. Upon seeing the review, I like the JX a lot more than I thought. My concern was that it would be a lot slower than the Murano due to it being bigger and the fact that it has the same engine. From what you were saying and the way you drove it, it doesn't seem that way. Excellent review Charlie, thank you!

Keep in mind the JX was built off the idea of being a 100% family oriented vehicle, hence its CVT which improves MPG ratings compared to its competitors however sacrifices performance. Over all Infiniti knows that a specific clientele shopping in this segment is not focused on performance but more so practicality, space, saftey & technology. Customers in search of a more athletic SUV would opt for the FX37 or QX56. The JX has been a huge hit since its debut. Athleticism was not thier main focus.

Dude, i'm up 10 pounds and not happy about it. I've been working too hard and not working out enough. Simple diet, no carbs, workout everyday and make it a religion. :-) The hard thing is to maintain when traveling. In terms of pricing the Audi Q7 is relatively affordable considering its size, it is indeed a Full size Luxury SUV while the Infiniti JX is a full size Luxury crossover. The larger Infiniti QX56 on the other hand starts at an entry price of $60,000+ while the Q7 has a significantly lower $46,000 entry price tag which allows it to fall & compete in the segment in which cross shoppers in the market for a $45.000+ 7 seater SUV are looking for, hence the Infiniti JX.

The only CVT I've ever liked is the one in the Murano and this is very similar. Same basic engine and transmission with a little more performance and "Infiniti" tuned into it. CVTs need high horsepower to weight ratios to not stink. -Charlie@RoadflyTV

My cousin brought it to my attention that Infiniti basically copied the silhouette of the Q7 and added their own features to it! And it's sooooo true the Jx35 does resemble the Audi Q7

No the QX56 was just redesigned, that is Infiniti's Flag Ship SUV. Infiniti is still extending their vehicle range, rumors are a new range of IPL coupes/SUV's & sedans are underway. A new compact entry level Electric sedan below the G sedan has been confirmed and rumors of a coupe based of the M sedan is circulating as well.

it probably has something to do with the CVT not working well with high powered engines. Typically CVT has only been used with 2000cc or under but as CVT evolves we are seeing higher torque engines being paired with the CVT.

It does everything right except the CVT part. Infiniti doesn't have to apologize for their interiors because it's absolutely gorgeous. I'm disappointed this whole CVT nonsense is making it over to Nissan's luxury brand, my Mom's Sentra is horrible because of that CVT. It's good for economy and not much else.

Charlie, Im a fan of the connectivity of the new 3,but the review done by whatshername, was not the type of review any of your fans have come to expect from Roadfly. A brief segment to highlight the new features would have been great, but what the Roadfly fans got was a brief segment about the new 3 and a review on its connectivity.

Yes it would be in terms of "pricing" but you would have to be kidding yourself if you actually thought a Mazda was comparable to an Infiniti. Mazda doesn't even compete in the same league as the Infiniti. Infiniti is a Luxury brand, Mazda serves as a conventional and affordable vehicle for the general public. Lexus, Audi, Infiniti, Mercedes Benz & BMW target a different clientele in terms of their target market opposed to manufacturers like Toyota, Nissan, KIA, Ford, Mazda & Hyundai

no actually, in todays world, where fuel economy matters..they're not. most people don't need a suv to go fast, or do 0-60 times. they want big, with decent mileage, and decent grunt. which is all provided with a cvt. so a cvt makes perfect sense here.

On paper, yes it can. The Infiniti JX boast more features, amenities, saftey tech, comfort, space, and luxury gimmicks that the Q7 has yet to offer. However, in terms of styling, yes I would have to agree that the Audi Q7 is undeniably a beautiful car. In terms of power the Q7 has larger engine variants while the the JX only offers one nevertheless the JX has best in class MPG as well. Over all the JX is everything the Q7 lacks to offer while the Q7 is everything the JX lacks in design.

Not that suvs and minivans are so different these days since they're not but the JX looks way too much like a minivan - almost felt like they wanted to build a minivan and decided instead to classify it as an SUV at the last minute (just look at the 2nd row seating configuration) - either way i think the design fails in that regard. BTW i'm assuming they switched to CVT since Nissan has CVT in a lot of their vehicles
@speedmaster00112 жыл бұрын

I am of the opinion the JX was just another S/CUV. Nothing special to become interested in. But to be honest, it is the second best looking Infiniti thus far. The first being the G37 Coupe. I still prefer the G35 Coupe. I try not to consider a car ugly. But if I can't find even one reason NOT to call a car ugly, I will.

true. I used to like Acuras post 2009. The design people of Acura ought to be fired. What have they done to that beautiful car? For me, die hard Infiniti fan. My daily is the FX35
@h4u12312 жыл бұрын
cool thanks... but in todays age we expect more out of the car companies when the gas prices are $4 plus a gallon... but they said they will create cars with better gas mileage but i don't see the benefit from that if you look at it from money stand point becasuse by that time the prices well be higher if the gas mileage are higher on most cars, so at the end you wont be saving that much when it comes to money, but i might be wrong.

Great review as usual Charlie, you did the best you could with what was handed to you. The interior is nice and some of the tech is nice and I am sure it rides great but man is this thing ugly. And pardon my language, but I am sick of the p*ssies in this society that need tech to tell them where their kids are. If you don't trust your kids then you have failed as a parent and a human being. Most of us grew up with no cell phones or whatever and we are still alive. Tracking your kid, wtf?
