I get a kick out of these reviews. They always talk about gas mileage, but don't grasp the concept, that if a person can afford an $81,000 dollar SUV, what makes them think the individual gives a shit about gas mileage or $5 a gallon gas.

I own this car Alhumdulillah. Beautiful car, beautiful ride, very very quiet inside, very fast (0-60 in 5.4 seconds), very powerful, and everything I could ask for. ONE major issue however is as mentioned at 4:20.

Well I don't want the warranty to end by doing that. Secondly, it is a problem but the car itself is a beauty. Absolute beast, convenient, spacious, luxury, Benz, Fast, 4x4, you name it bro...

I completely agree, in stock form the throttle response is very very annoying. I had an ECU tune done by renntech, and it bumped the power up to 550hp and 700lb-ft but most importantly improved the throttle response tenfold. For around $3000 you can turn this thing into a true AMG competitor.

The ride of the ML is phenomenal, though I do agree that getting the car from the stop could be a bit touchy. And Cayenne does not offer "everything that ML offers." Comfort in that car is nothing like in the ML.

I would much rather take the 550 over the Cayenne S there's too many of them, even tho people will say there's too many ML's, it's the 350 that's ubiquitous; not the 550.

Wow, I was thinking the new models for 2021 where insanely expensive, but this guy is saying that this ML550 cost $80k new so that's pretty similar to the price they are today. Even more amazing when you think that my fully loaded 2015 with 100k miles only cost $16,000 :).

This vehicle is not disappointing in any way. Porsche turbo will also set you back at least another $15k, and really won't out perform this ML550. 2013 ML550 is a 4.7liter by the way. If you want more power you can spend more money on the 630amg or you can go to a place that tunes these for a little more boost and bump them up to 525bhp for $1500.

What packages does this come with because I have not seen any ML550 with the 2 speed transfer case so I am thinking it is an option or something specific for 2013 that wasn't carried over.

enhanced off-road package, it looks neat but hard to find option. I saw it on all years until the facelift, I think starting with the GLE name change it disappeared..

I really hate to say this because i'm sure this guy is knowledgeable, but when I watch a review, a man of this physical stature and set of annoying vocal chords really doesn't instil the confidence I look for when watching car reviews... Also, the fact that this is a twin turbo seems to be a huge shock to him... this removes the prior knowledge comment and we're left with an annoying host but fantastic filming and editing... This guy belongs behind the scenes

If you can Afford $82,000 on a SUV you do t give a Shit about MPG. Your RICH I had a 2002 ML55 AMG. It was Amazing! Mercedes are more reliable then POS Porsches (VWs) I know…I traded that AMG in on a Porsche Cayenne S (V8) it was NOT as Quick it did handle better. Initial Build quality was Great but, it didn’t last….the Porsches VW build quality came through after 80K miles…

Not sure about the first gen MLs but W164 and W166 are not reliable at all. I had a 2015 for a short period of time. It was a nice ride, when it worked! The vehicle had about 45k miles, both rear shocks were shot, the left front axle was done, all kinds of electrical gremlins (faulty sensors) and the tail lights filled with water after every heavy rain. After $10k of repairs (under warranty), i took it back to the MB dealer and kindly asked them to shove up their rear end, it was a so called "certified" dealer maintained unit, no accidents, etc. I now have an Audi, it has been 3 years, not a single problem! So reliability wise I think VWs products are like Lexus compared to MBs and BMWs.

@@cooperalpthe W163 (first gen MLs) were the most reliable. I have a 2002 ML55. 234k miles and counting. Other then a window motor And leaking sunroof drain it’s Perfect. Funny I had a 2010 Cayenne S it was a Pice of Junk. I actually sold that Porsche at 82k miles and bought My ML55 back from my nephew. Still own it. It’s a garage Queen now.
