2013 Peugeot 508 SW RXH HYbrid4 | Full Tour & Long Test Drive

I've had a 2013 one for about 14 months. Been down to Spain and back as well as local driving. Fantastic car. A real Swiss army knife of a unit. In the real world I get around 50 mpg. Very few around. I'm not selling mine any time soon, and it's done 191,000 miles !

Yeah it was definitely a great car in many ways. Aside from the awful auto gearbox, that is.

@@RealWorldCarReviews Peugeot have never really been the world's best when it comes to their gearboxes but they do so many other things very, very well.🥴

@@neilburns8869 It has an electronic ‘box apparently. The changes were just weirdly sluggish and jerky.

The later diesel only RHX got the EAT6 Aisin tiptronic gearbox. Very smooth compared to the old EGC, although that was OK when you got used to it (I had one in a hire car 3008 and a couple of thousand km later, by about the 5th day, I'd finally got the hang of it). With the EAT6 'box I just got in and drove away and never had to think about it again.

How to set parking sensor distance? Mines indicates other car 50m away, I want to make it closer like 10-5m

Hi, i have a black one. Needed suspension refresh (struts and springs) but it's doable yourself. Can you post a link fornthe hood emblem and headlight protection please?

Nice. I sold mine a while ago. The emblems are pretty easy to find on eBay, and I just used a local tint/wrap company to do the headlights 👍

How reliable are they and is the insurance pricey

I sold mine in case it broke down. But then I always get like that with the cars I buy. I’ve seen them with almost 200k miles. Just try to buy one with extensive service history, HPI check etc, and that’s about as good as you can do for any older car.

Hello sir, thank you for the video, but.. who told you that it only tows 300 kg? I can find information on the web, that it's 1100kg... am I wrong or you? :)

The diesel-only version can tow 1,100 kgs, but because it’s a hybrid it’s limited to 300 kgs. You can damage the hybrid system otherwise.

How did you find the battery and overall hybrid system after 10 years? I'm thinking about buying a 2013 RXH and the only thing I'm worried about is that the hybrid system doesn't bite my wallet as soon as I buy it.

It was fine, but I sold it because of the engine reliability issues I read about. If I were you I would choose a petrol Toyota or Lexus hybrid instead. They’re the ultimate in reliability.

@@Satchel95 Yes. It’s a truly excellent car in many ways, but unfortunately they do have issues with the diesel engine. I would not have sold it otherwise. Again, I recommend Toyota or Lexus for hybrid cars.

@@stuartcharlton-potts7181 Yes tow weight was the main reason. I was part of a 508 owners group and the amount of cars in good condition (inside and out) being scrapped because of engine issues scared me. Mine was fine and I’ve seen owners do 200,000 miles on them, but I like cars that I know are going to be very reliable.
