Leave it to Oksana Chusovitina to go up there and perform a skill that is named after her 22 years later!

I noticed that there weren't any gymnasts from Japan or China. Because if Kohei Uchimora was there... I mean just wouldn't be fair.

Oksana was so smart to do a hop full. She knows none of the younger girls train it, it was an easy point (also the fact that she literally did two skills in a row named after HERSELF! Queen shit)

i love this format but using two american gymnasts and an american audience to decide the tie breakers just wasn't fair on team world

24:31-Lineup for the World's Team on the uneven bars-Jessica Lopez, Anna Pavlova, and Marissa King. 34:07-Oksana Chusovitina is going for Team World on the uneven bars yet she wasn't in the lineup and a wildcard wasn't used. Why were they allowed to do this?

I wonder how long one could keep these skills? I know that, in terms of Olympic-level ability, that there are age restrictions, the same as any sport. However, I don't see any reason that a healthy person couldn't keep up their strength and practice gymnastics skills for the rest of their lives. I'm curious as to how age would affect things, or if it has more to do with deconditioning. Any gymnasts out there that can comment on this?

kungfuman82 I'm not a gymnast (but do gymnastic/calisthenics training) but I've recently seen a video on Lachlan Walker's channel of a 52 year old doing a full planche on rings, as well as a video on the gymnasticbodies forum of a 50 year old doing an iron cross after not doing it in years. So I think it's definitely possible to maintain gymnastics strength and a healthy body through gymnastics throughout your whole life.

+kungfuman82 Well Jordan has been to the Olympics for still rings for 6 times in a row.. so we're talking of one every what.. 4 years? so 24 years worth of olympics? and i think he came either 2nd or 3rd at his last one so i guess you keep your skills at that elite level for quite a long time haha i think he was 39 at the time of his last attendence.

3.03 "How important is this type of competition for the evolution of the sport?""Because A. It is not been done before...... "(It is important because it has not been done before ;therefore, lowering still rings to a height of 4ft is important for the evolution of the sport too???) and B. oh right there is no B. Yes no need to enumerate if you only have one statement. THINK FIRST,TALK LATER. WTF
