I drove this car extensively few years ago - company car. Handling is top notch. Its single scroll turbo provides decent torque which is highly addictive. Just have to be cautious with the right foot as my fuel consumption averaged around 9 - 10 litre / 100km

Yah the interior quality still can be improved but overall it's a good car for its class. I've owned one before, the handling is superb and the turbo works really well when I need additional power to speed up.

what ever guys. so far in my perspective, proton's cvt are pretty good. bring up your what? myvi? jetta? vios? swift? city? camry? triton? against saga flx or my suprima s. i drove saga flx before, those shit just struggle to follow me. that saga flx was completely stock. thanks for the good handling n suspension from proton! even stock suspension, u will b confident to speed up ur car. minimum body roll. just nice.

Different segment, so different interior size. Persona is B-Segment while Suprima is C-Segment. If you think, paying more for extra space of Suprima then it is relevant lo.

Truly love this car. If there one in Singapore, I would save up my money and buy. Only rabak about this car is the fuel consumption, the plastic noise it was making while you were driving and the way the rear seat being folded is not nice. Other than that, i accept all it flaws. Thank you for the review. Had a better view of inside the car. Didnt know got hook, armreast and two interior lights.

If you're really interested to buy a Suprima S in Singapore, you can visit Proton Singapore's main showroom (address is available on their website) and make a personal request for a direct shipment from Malaysia. However, the Suprima S is not Cat A, but rather Cat B for COE since the CamPro Turbo produces 103 kW. You'll probably be the only Suprima S owner in Singapore though, and Proton only sold 4 or 5 cars in Singapore for 2014.

***** Well, ever since the LTA's newest regulations which came into play several months back, Cat A cars need to have an engine which is 1,600 cc or less, and power must not exceed 97 kW. The CamPro Turbo is a 1.6, but because it does 103 kW, it's been pushed into Cat B now. The non CamPro Turbo Prevé is Cat A though.

''Premium'' is just the trim variant name Proton uses for all their models. There's also ''Executive'', ''Standard'' and the cheesy ''Super Premium''. The car itself is nothing too premium, even with all its gadgets, it's still very 'average' when compared to any current C-segment Japanese, Korean or European hatch. Proton still doesn't make any REAL luxury cars because our market is too small to justify the capital needed and return on investment.

HB45175 There are a handful of Chinese cars on sale in Malaysia, but personally, I'd rather have a Proton or Perodua over a Chinese make as I think the build quality in a Proton/Perodua is much better. That being said, I'm curious to have a go at the Qoros line of cars though. They look the best and perform the best for a Chinese make. The only problem is, they're not sold in Malaysia just yet.

Not really. The Suprima S was never really designed for our Malaysian tastes. The Suprima S is supposed to be a mostly export oriented model because Malaysia is a country which prefers 4-door sedans. Usually, if it's a small car like a Myvi or Viva, the hatchback design is preferable. But bigger cars are usually expected to be sedans. Which is why the Prevé sales outnumber the Suprima S sales 10 to 1 in Malaysia. Even though the Prevé CFE is only a few k less than this Suprima S Turbo, most people still buy the Prevé anyway, even though the Suprima S is so much more value for money.

Nur Azhar Hi Nur Azhar, I feel that the Suprima S Premium offers more value for money because you get much more equipment for a small price increment over the Proton Prevé Premium. For around RM8,000 extra on top of the Prevé Premium, you get full leather seats, a reverse camera, Hill-Hold Assist, a more advanced Android head unit, a better sound system, nicer diamond-cut rims, front parking sensors, Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and a few more minor bits. You cannot get any of these in the Prevé Premium, at least not yet. Of the 4 versions of Suprima on sale, I think the Premium spec offers the best value for money, avoid the rest. As for the Prevé, all three are good buys, but the Premium spec is the best value overall. Proton is offering rebates for all Proton cars for Chinese New Year. If you're lucky, you can get a Suprima S Premium for just RM70,000 (save RM10,000).

Did you know ? Indonesia is the Suprima S' best export market. Proton sold more than 400 units of Suprima S in Indonesia so far. In comparison, about 250 were sold in Thailand and about 50 in Australia.

I have a Satria neo 2007 model since new, and now after 70k KMS its falling apart I don't think I could sell it. I service it every 3 months and also did timing belt service etc. I had to replace 3 fuel pumps 1 radiator hose Cv joints Fuel rail Alarm doesn't work reverse sensors don't work Massive cabin creaks noises speakers stopped working Cd player skips Problem with this car I'n Australia is parts. Very hard to find very expensive, never again. Vw polo next

In Malaysia (I'm pretty sure in other parts of the world too), the DSG transmission installed in VWs is prone to failing, making lots of owners stranded. On the other hand, my Golf has been running well so far, with the DSG not being problematic at all. Same goes for other brands, I've heard both horror stories and good ownership stories. =)

Comfort and a bit of pick up take Preve,Can get under 9.6s in D mode for century sprint,But gadgets,a bit of meaty mid torque and handling go for Suprima..0-100kmh is a bit slower than Preve at 9.7s on average..

Reliability alone should not make or break any car (no pun intended). A lot of the world's best selling cars today aren't that reliable or refined. True, it will be nice if Proton can up their build quality and refinement levels, but that's just one part of the full picture. Proton has already made a very safe, excellent handling, spacious, well-equipped and reasonably-priced car with the Suprima S. Despite all the quality issues, the Suprima S still got good reviews from Australian press (for a Proton), because all in all, it's still a worthwhile proposition.

The Suprima S is safer than a lot of the world's more established cars in the C-segment, including the Hyundai Elantra, Ford Focus and Nissan Sentra. Don't believe ? Go to ANCAP's website and educate yourself a bit. Talk is cheap.
