I really love the old scoring system. Just having a flip trick only section is so fun Also great to see Malto skating, he’s always commentating ever since I started watching SLS so it was great to see him get that hard flip

Why does the skating look so much better? The course is really Grand! Spacious and really diverce The style of the skaters is just so good. The golden times of skateboarding! Oh and the tricks. So much flipping into stuff as opposed to spinning into hurricanes that's being done now. This really is a spectacle!

i miss this format. that control section with 5 attempts made the skaters go for their best tricks, and end it with the banger big section always excited me. nowadays repetition wins, like watching one contest and you have seen all, even the commentators predict the tricks skaters do before they even drop in

This was the absolute peak of sls. I was just getting kickflips and going street skating a lot around this time. summer 2013 was my last summer I was innocent too. I started smokin weed and getting in trouble that following school year, but god. summer 2013 is what I would do back to if I had the chance to go to anytime from my childhood. Id go back and skate so much harder and never slow down.

This specific contest was the ABSOLUTE peak of sls. They got off ESPN and changed the format and it was hard for me to adjust to until years later I started watching them and got caught back up. They definitely fell off for a couple years tho. I hate I was one is the reasons they did
