Nope! The straight pipe as far as just the cat back itself doesn't have any effect from stage one to 2. That has to do with your downpipe

If it's a COBB catted downpipe, I assume it's a hi-flow cat? I love the Turbo sound out of the exhaust, and some people were mentioning that I'd need to completely remove the cats in order to achieve that.

It's definitely more noticeable with no costs. But it's not necessarily a requirement. This one was a catted cobb dp. And I got plenty of turbo sounds

Yeah I got it done at an exhaust shop. They just cut off my old mufflers and welded on new bigger tips

the shorter ones are the ones the sedan is supposed to have haha. They were only longer cuz I traded colors with someone that had a hatch... and before that I didnt know there was a length difference.

If you cut a muffler and resonator off, no. If you go stage 2 with a catless DP you'll need a tune.

they did 3.5 inch tips. basically he cut the existing ones and then used slightly bigger diameter of piping to slide over the existing pipes and then just welded it.

@@NetomaMusic When you delete a muffler or resonator the car essentially becomes louder. Mufflers are meant to soften exhaust noises and resonators cancel out a certain range of frequencies.

@@NetomaMusic Drone is when the car sounds kind of annoying basically, just a similar frequency that keeps reverberating and it gets really annoying. Happened to me on the highway with a rental Challenger R/T. Unfortunately I can't advise you on what to get because I don't have a wrx (yet). I have heard good things about the Nameless muffler delete and I think it sounds great. Muffler deletes themselves usually are not too too loud.

Yeah man it’s alright. Just like most STI \ WRX. Those head gaskets are ticking time bombs. If you’re buying one I would stay away from high mileage ones. And young kinds love to clap these cars and drive them way too hard. Just be aware who you’re buying from.

That's actually not true. As long as you have 3 points where your exhaust is being muffled and you have your cats. You should be good to go. For mine there is 1. A cat on the up pipe 2. A cat on the down pipe and 3. The turbo itself counts as a muffle for the exhaust as well. That's if you are somewhere that cares about emissions. If you are not then do whatever you want! Haha

+801Garage you shouldnt have a catted up pipe, they removed the cats from the UP in 06 and started using airpumps in place of it(black contraption on the driveside head). car sounds great!
