This is a review of LEGO Ninjago Set 70505 Temple of Light, a set released 8 years ago, in 2013! This set was originally a part of the Final Battle wave of Ninjago, which is Season 2 of LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu. This set contains the Temple of Light, the Golden Mech, as well as 5 minifigures:

The worst thing about this set is that there's nothing to keep the sword in the mech's hand, so it's constantly dropping it

The only two mechs I had with swords at the time was this one and the Samurai X Mech, so I was very comparative of the two when the Samurai mech had an insert for the sword and you’re just relying on the mere fingers that don’t even have nails for the golden mech. It annoyed so much that I modified its arm to have the same sword insert concept the Samurai X Mech did

This is such a great set! If you took the red off the new Golden Mech and maybe made it look like this one, I think it'd look like a perfect updated ancient mech.

I was going through my storage bins and I found the temple part of this set opened with only the blades missing 😂. You get me was only interested in cool weapons, mechs and minifigs. Awesome temple build so glad I was searching.

I have to say that if legacy didn't stop they should have 100% have remade and seriously improved the temple of light. and since there is an already existing golden mech they could have had the temple a much bigger and better build.

Damm I remember getting this set as a kid in elementary bro the nostalgia

This set was iconic for me, since I had the Rise of the Snakes wave sets, I would always set up some massive battle of the ninja and mainly the Serpentine. Unfortunately I destroyed the set like the 12yr old me thought, however have started to rebuild it with a few of the circular red 2 by 2s scattered around my house (about 5 missing to be exact). I decided to modify the mech so it could have the same sword insert Nya’s Samurai X Mech did and gave it wrist blades sticking out just above the left wrist, however leaving it a very heavy modification on the arm. Also I don’t know about you, but I think the mouth piece for Garmadon feels like Lego’s attempt to show a half possessed Garmadon from the Overlord, just my theory since he never had the mouth attachment in the show unlike the Stone Samurai Warriors and General Kozu. Overall, a fun set of back then, and helped add new minifigs to my collection like my first four armed Garmadon

The original golden mech different then the legacy version of the golden mech specially I like the golden lloyd 2013 and also the legacy version of him it has the armor on the right side I think he is trying to represent history for the original set
