2013 VW GTI MK6 full of budget upgrades!

Most of us don't have tens of thousands of dollars to spend on our project cars. Ricky's 2013 MK6 GTI is a great example of how you can use Marketplace, Ebay and Amazon to build a significantly fast car.

Red coil packs are a must, even stock. One of the first things I did on mine. Second MK6, had a 5 door, currently a 3 door

I also owned an MK4 manual 1.8t Golf. What an amazing car! I loved everything about it. Still miss driving it. I cried for an hour when I decided sell it. Replaced it with a manual 2013 GTI. Love it!

Same vehicle upgrade path! I loved my b4 gen Passat with the VR6. Electrical on that car sucked tho so i had to get rid of it. Owned my mk4 1.8t for around 5 years, traded it in with 205k miles for my current mk6 GTI. Looking to go Alltrack next.

Just bought a 2011 GTI with 140,000 miles, interior is mint, had red top could and missed real bad, put stock coils back in runs great. Love these cars. Really fun

@@kippkewish9626 check the timing chain tensioner to see if you have the revised version. They revised it mid-2013, and the original one likes to act like a grenade... Ask me how I know.

Mk6 GTI owner here. Was thinking about selling because I'm in Cali, and I wouldn't be smog legal with a k04 swap... but my gf is pregnant now, and we're going to move back to her family in Wisconsin, so I'm keeping it for sure! Probably going APR stage 3 at this point, and I'm stoked. This is my second VW, my first was a Corrado.

@@JumboJohn65 Not sure where in PA you are or what exactly they quoted you for but a carbon cleaning in Northern NJ by a large vW dealership is $800. Def get another quote but I would suggest going to a popular mechanic in your area who specializes in VW.
