2013 VW Tiguan Transmission Fluid Change

How has your Tiguan been running with the Valvoline maxlife AT fluid? Thinking on changing mine with that type.

Put about 25,000 on it since with no issues! Ended up opting for a newer tiguan since that one was getting old. 😅

Have you done Volkswagen Atlas 2.0 TSI 4 cylinder? Do you think is going to be the same?

I have not but I'm sure they kept the same transmission or used something similar

How long does it take for the atf to get up to temp?

It will vary. For me was around 8-10 minutes. But you have to use a thermometer or scan tool to make sure the correct temperature is reached.

Does the engine need to be running?..on Park?..neutral?..while checking oil level...of course besides the ideal temperature..

You should cycle through the gears for about 5 seconds each, then let it run in park.... If the fluid does not begin to drip out around the correct fluid-temp, then turn off, let cool, and add a bit more. Repeat until it starts to drip at the correct temp

How many quarts will be the exact refill with filter ?

Sorry I'm not familiar with that engine, is it a VOLKSWAGEN? If so you shouldn't have much trouble finding amount for trans pan and filter online

How much oil did u pull out I only got like 4 qts out , so I put 4.5 and am waiting for the oil to cool to check
