Thank you Raul.. I couldn't find a thermostat replacement video for my 2013 escape. Picked up a new one but had no idea where the old one was mounted.

I needed this video. I just had to change my radiator hose and my temp gauge has been acting weird no leaking but I smell it ima take it in to see if my thermostat is bad but I’ve been trying to do all my own work in my car and this video was informative enough to make me comfortable to do this myself. Thank you for taking the time.

I had just had my 13 fusion titanium in for service, they told me my housing was the issue after pressure test. I have seen no leaks but they said it was and wanted 550 bucks to replace. I purchased a new OEM part from ford for 75bucks. Car just hit 90k and needs this already. Great video thanks.

Did this on my 2013 Fusion Same 2.5 and man was it a nightmare from hell first the petcock was on Uber tight than getting the Thermostat off was a bitch because the constant tension clamps broke off and had to replace one of those, than i dropped the bolt from the top right screw hole so I had to buy that. Finally i had to have my dad and uncle thread the screws in for me to get the Thermostat back in all in all it took over 6 hours lol but my dad and I eventually got it done. PS to anyone reading this to avoid dropping the screws for the Thermostat housing bolts grab some Vaseline or Beeswax and put it on the bolt and the back of the socket that way the bolt stays in place and won't fall off like mine did luckily it didn't fall into the engine. Anyways I highly advise you also have some picks for the hoses and have someone with small hands to get those bolts in for you!

Place some Vaseline onto the new thermostat housing prior to installing both hose back that way it will be easier to place back and remove next time

What other symptoms did you have? I have a 2013 ford fusion and having some heating issues. Engine is not overheating or anything but my heat is just not as hot as it should be sometimes no heat. Thinking of changing out the thermostat.

Its been a while since this video. Not sure what all I was experiencing. I do recall once with a Chrysler, I was having issues with my heater not heating and after spending some time trying to figure it out, it turned out that my coolant was not completely full. I mean I could still see it in the reservoir it was maybe and inch from the full level, thats all. But as soon as I filled it to the line, heater started working. Not sure if that helps but just a thought.

@@raulrodriguez3311 No worries. I think with this model the thermostat seems to be the likely culprit. My fusion is running great and no check engine light but just the heat comes and goes. Engine seems to run on the cool side and coolent seems to stay in the engine and takes a while to move back into the resivoir. From what I've read a bad thermostat can cause engine to run cool with little heat because it does not open and close properly keeping more coolant in the engine.
