please dont pry your oil filter. 6$ will buy you a 3/8 oil filter cap wrench.

GM tech here. Not sure how you can comfortably get a cap socket on it. If you can bonus.

Cap wrenches don't work. I've been changing oil on my 4.3L for 4 years, it's required a screw driver being driven through the filter almost every time after the filter was only hand tightened. Last change I did I finally used a strap wrench and it crushed the filter before starting to spin

I had to have an engine rebuild on my 2014 silverado 4.3 they lost engineerings oil dipstick can you send me the length of dipstick so I can check to ensure the right one was put in as I checked my oil and it is above where it should be so I just want to make sure they put in the right one it was had a dirty handle so I know it was not new. thanks

You don’t beat a screwdriver through the oil filter or you get a wrench for it

It relieves pressure and it's going in the trash anyway so beat it in there and ue leverage my friend. Save money remember the biggest tool they can't market is brains and common sense!

Does yours have tow hooks on the front? I thought one could simply pop out the blanks for it to add them but it appears you have to change the whole lower valance for one with access holes or cut the factory one which would look like shit

I Know You're Right But the truck in the video does have the two front tow hooks, I believe it’s a option but ya you can still add them to any truck you just have to cut the plastic. Which I do agree will look like shit. Lol

Removing the skid plate takes less than one minute. Stabbing an oil filter? Tacky. How about a filter wrench? The oil filler cap is in a “wierd” place? Really? Normally found on a valve cover, where would you suggest they put it? Also it’s not Vortec, it’s an Ecotec.

Yes 10k is fine with full synthetic!

I have the 4.3 in my 14 Silverado. When it's hot at idle which is about 525 rpm's it's a little below 40. If you jump on the gas the pressure will go all the way over.

buck shot My 2018 at hot idle with factory oil is around 28-30, it’s because it has a variable oil pump. The 2020 Corvette at hot idle is the same, 28
