i have a 05 silverado went straight pipe side exit its load on start and warm up but nice idle when warm mean when hit the gas

I was expecting worse honestly, for a v6 the kooks was the most tolerable. Maybe a 40 series or adding a resonator to the flowmaster truck would get rid of some of the high frequency buzzy sound.

The Flowmaster is a tad louder but the Kooks sounds better. More deeper tone.

So surprised with the results. The one with Flowmaster sounded like a v6 nice or not it is what it is. But the kooks was just like a v8 at low revs.

Flowmaster Super 10 is the way to go. Sounds awesome for being inexpensive. I have the Flowmaster Super 10 exhaust kit on my 2005 Silverado V6 and it sounds like a V8.

Yeah man that's cause you have a vortec in that thing the newer ones have the ecotechs they sound alike bumble bees the vortecs sounds just like a v8 with 40 series and high flow mag cats

@@burdman5620 oh the eco tech engines are crap? I thought the 4.3L Silverado’s were all vortech. Does the eco tech get better fuel ⛽️ mileage then vortech? Was also curious how much horsepower does the eco techs put out?

@@dustinuber5554 I'm getting 21mpg or better and yeah I'd say that's better then the vortecs. The ecotechs stock get 285hp and 305ftlb of torque it's a strong motor just wished it sounded better at high rpms.

Depends on if you going with a single exhaust or dual. I went with the dual axle back exhaust from flowmaster. I think it was right around $200 for the parts. For the 3” piping and a super 44 series muffler .

I think with a v6, should stick with quiet exhaust. Not really much you can do with them...You can put a free flow cat and muffler on it...

Put JBA headers on it. I put JBA shorty headers on my 2005 Chevy Silverado 4.3L. Added a Flowmaster high flow cat and Flowmaster super 10 muffler along with K&N cold 🥶 air intake along with ADX throttle body spacer and NGK spark plugs along with upgraded ignition distributor. My truck 🛻 sounds like a V8. Gained maybe 4 miles per gallon ish. Truck definitely runs better. Definitely get Headers for your truck . Well worth the money 💰 spent. The headers changed the exhaust tone big time .

If you want a good milder exhaust go with Flowmaster super 50 series.

Go with Flowmaster Super 10 dual axle back exhaust. Get Flowmaster high flow cats along with it. Your truck will sound like a beast .

Cats are an EPA thing so federal.

The cats are required for smog regardless of what state your in. It’s because of emission testing. Go with high flow cats. Sounds almost the same as catless exhaust systems and you are street legal. If you go catless you could get fines in the thousands of dollars 💵.

Personally I was not impressed with either, but I am not the person getting the exhaust, I was kinda looking for more of a growl from the looks, I have the super 10s on my suburban, but overall, I guess they were ok,but not great... in my opinion....
