Phil you killed it again great video. But when you says it’s no big deal it’s easy lol. If I took mine apart I’d have to fly you over here to put it back together.
@philgamboa29066 жыл бұрын
It was just a lot of bolts. If you can get over the anxiety, it's not too bad. There are great videos out there for removing the steering wheel. That is probably the hardest part of this all considering you have to remove the airbag. But again, great videos for that.
@daneh84346 жыл бұрын
I find it easier to remove the entire steering column. It's a total of 6 nuts (4 on cross brace and 2 on column), 3 bolts (2 on column and 1 on intermediate shaft), a couple wiring harness connectors and shift cable and out it comes. There's always more than one way to skin a cat though. Nice reference for everyone Phil.
@philgamboa29066 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah.. For sure! I'll need to look at that method. Since I swapped the wheel before for a heated wheel, I was familiar with that process already. Thanks for the tip!

I really enjoy your videos they are very informative. Do you think in hindsight you should have just got the LTZ or high country when you bought your truck? I have a GMC SLE and so far have replaced the cloth seats and have a self dimming rear view mirror, leveling kit the sub woofer and 2 amps (sub fits under back seat - dealer installed) side steps and I think I'm done for now but I have an 8.1 liter 496 big block GMC motor and transmission that is currently in my wifes Yukon. If you or someone with your passion for upgrades wants to make a video of the eventual swap I think it would be fun. I'm not planning on touching the 5.3 until I hit 250,000 miles though and I'm just over 100k now.

oh wow!!!! I thought the padded dash came standard in the 14-18 trucks! My 18 Sierra SLT has the padded dash with the stitching; however, I don't think it is leather though. Leather does not hold up well to heat and will shrink. My guess is that it is some type of vinyl????
@philgamboa29066 жыл бұрын
I guess compared to the LT dash, which has more of a plastic feel, the "leather" dash has a spongy feel to it.

Yep. That one is easy. Remove the 3 or 4 torx bolts and pull the entire "Ash tray" back.

I don't think so. It takes me about 4-6 hours. So if they are able to source the part # to the specific dash, I would assume it would be an hourly charge.

Still Fat Fitness - Yeah! Had I known then... lol. But I didn’t. But, I’ve enjoyed all the upgrades, learning about my truck, helping many others trying to mod it... now... if I decide to go 2019+, I’d do it all over again and get a lower trim just to learn if I can mod it.

Many of the things I have done to this truck was because I didn’t do my due diligence before buying. Essentially, that allowed me to see if it could be done. On certain “upgrades”, I was always told by GM dealerships “it can’t be done”.
