Did you guys used to have a installation guide that used a mounting to the side motor mount at one point?
@rebe018 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they did. Just in case you need this info, the torque spec on the motor mount bolts is 60 ft-lbs or 81 N-m. I did a full write-up on the process if you need more info: howtune.com/articles/281-install-the-mishimoto-oil-catch-can-kit-on-a-2014-ford-fiesta-st

Do u need to remove headlight to empty the can
@ericpenn47088 жыл бұрын
does the new bracket make it easier to remove and empty the can? I can unscrew it and lower it but not remove it so I have to use a hose to vacuum out the oil from inside.

Ive installed mine a few weeks ago and have since put the car in storage for winter ( i live in canada with temps reaching -40C at times), i will liukely remove it for winter storage as a precaution, but, winter driving seems to bring up some conflicts in optinion, mainly on frozen bronze filters which could cause damage to the crankcase on start up. Im thinking of removing it during the winter in the future when i plan on driving the car during the winter. Is this fine, or am i over reacting and its fine to keep it i the winter and i should just empty it out more often. Does Mishimot have any reccomendations? I have a 2017 fiesta st.

Ecoboost 1.6 has 2 stock oil catch cans: 1st mounted on short block near thermostat and 2nd in valve cover. For what purposes your catch can is?
@mishimoto5 жыл бұрын
What you are referring to is your PCV and CCV. Although they do a good job they do not catch it all. The catch can is designed to stop the extra oil from reaching your intake valves and prevent carbon build up.
@ysnvts5 жыл бұрын
@@mishimoto ok, got it. Why didn't you install 2 catch cans?
@Rhinoserious4 жыл бұрын
@@ysnvts They have one available for PCV and CCV. PCV is just more popular and better for daily driving I think.

can't get the can to unscrew from the top portion. had to take the whole thing of the car and dump the oil out the "in" hole.

Will this fit on the new 1.5l 2019 Fiesta ST (MK8 200hp)

The catch can was design to fit the 1.6l model and would not fit the 1.5l

I have this on my 2016 Fiesta ST and after 20k miles it just broke off the bracket and the fittings are leaking oil, burning and causing me to lose oil pressure giving me an orange wrench light. Is there a way I can buy another bracket only?

Hello superstaples . Sorry to hear about your issue. This is very likely something we can cover under the products lifetime warranty. I'll leave a link to the claim form below for you. www.mishimoto.com/lifetime-warranty/

Hi do you have to remove the headlight to empty the can
@mishimoto6 жыл бұрын
Hey fluffymat1. You may be able to remove the can without uninstalling the headllight, but space is extremely limited. This would be a great application for our drain kit. You could likely run the line through the fender area to make the draining process much simpler. ( MMBCC-DRAIN-02 ) www.mishimoto.com/compact-baffled-oil-catch-can-petcock-drain-kit.html
