2014 MDX 77100 miles, bought July 2014, manufacturer in May 2014. It's been the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. I've thought about getting a new one but no reason to since it still drives perfectly. In the next couple of months, I need to do the timing belt which is $1500 but better than monthly car payments.

my 2014 MDX 110k miles, bought Aug 2013, now drive it still like new. Just did on schedule maintenances. Only did one fix was for replacing one control arm. The 2014 MDX has 6 speed transmission which is different than other years in this generation.

My brother owns a 2016 MDX. Fantastic truck, but we did had to put in some work into it. We took it Acura for front suspension work, we changed two wheel studs, changed the passenger-side engine mount, performed a transmission fluid change, and did the timing-belt job.

As the owner of one of these they are great vehicles but like anything they do have some minor things that tend to fail. You are spot on with your overall assessment. Great well timed video. I'm at just over 100k and everything is good but I am debating if I want to keep it or move on.

Just keep it, your MDX will last another 200k miles easily. Most of the new stuff out now aren’t easy to work on, and be super expensive to fix.

@@BCautosolutions As a car enthusiast I like trying new things but at the same time I don't have loads of $$. Honda vehicles have always treated me right. American brands have been ok but I've never owned them long enough to say how they are long term. Having said that I have never tried the Euro brands. I know they are high maintenance etc. If I were to sell I would consider an Audi S4 or BMW 440 grand coupe.

It’s funny the first thing you pointed out was that control arm bushing. One of things I notice in my new Pilot and don’t like is I can feel the bumps from that bushing and in my head I wonder if they will fail frequently. Time will tell but unless they improved the compound the Pilots may see the same issue. New Pilot may suffer from that same issue with AT selector. It’s setup the same way with the cup holder. Thx for the video. 🙏🏾

I love your content thanks for another video. I have 2013 Honda Fit Sport. When it’s cold and I run over a speed bump the suspension squeaks loudly on the passenger side. No rust at all on the vehicle and it’s all stock. Is this common and what could be making the noise? THANKS!
@BCautosolutions5 ай бұрын
Not something common, could just be a strut/mount or a bushing of some sort.

Wondering of you could provide some knowledge on the 6 cyl turbo on the Type S variants . Ive been considering it. I read they went with a Honda built transmission rather than ZF. Any problems engine not transmission wise ? How many hours of labor would rear main seal be ? And the leaky solenoid ruining the alternator? Other SUV on my shortlist from fav to least favToyota/Lexus Grand Highlander /TX, Mazda CX90, Infinity QX60. I purchased a CX5 for my daughter , its now 3 years old and have had no issues (built in Japan) I’ve noticed the Acura and Mazda have the “firmer sportier” ride and tire road noise , where Toyo/ Lexus is more “floaty soft” . long term reliability of Toyota / Lexus v Honda / Acura ?

Yes the j30ac has dual over cams (4 total vs 2 on older j) and quad vcm with a totally different setup. There have been some issues with engine and trans but nothing on too much of a repetitive basis.
