RIP to Mr. McCarver, Mr. Gibson, Mr. Groat, and Mr. Shannon. These gentlemen have given so much to the city of St. Louis. Not the same without them around. They will never be forgotten. God bless them all.

Gibson: "No! You're not going to throw him out anyway." Priceless. Also, Gibson to Uecker, "Did I pitch to you?"

Bob Gibson... what a gem of a man, a player, a Cardinal. I miss hearing from him the most. Absolute bulldog.

I was devastated that my Yankees could lose. A lot of talent sitting there.

Dear Mister Farmwald, The New York Yankees were nevertheless fierce and took it to seven games. I take nothing away for a victorious team and I do not believe in luck in Baseball. But I'm severe when it comes to honesty. 1. Manager Yogi Berra should never had Pitcher Whitey Ford start Game I or play at all. His arm was injured with muscular problems. 2. Although Second Baseman Bobby Richardson is still one of the fiercest hitters in World Series history, despite his excellent fielding, perhaps the finest in the Major Leagues for he covered more ground than anyone including Pittsburgh Pirate Second Baseman Bill Mazeroski, Richardson contributed to the loss of two Games in this series: 4 and 5. 3. I am all for the victory of an opposing team., yet whether for mine or the opposition, I cannot accept deceit and dishonesty. In the bottom of the 9th inning with one out of Game 5 Saint Louis Cardinal Pitcher Bob Gibson made an outstanding play of a ball that lined into his leg from the strong bat of Yankee First Baseman Joe Pepitone. Except for one fact! Pepitone was safe but called out. Leftfielder Tom Tresh hits a home run to tie the game 2-2. Now, if the call had been correct then Tresh's home run would have resulted in a Yankee 3-2 victory. Unless of course given the adversity tension Pitcher Gibson might have got him out, given the stronger will of pitchers back then. If a walk off home run by Tresh the Yankees would have wrapped it up in six games. FACT: Second Baseman Richardson lost it for them and of course the Cardinals had to take advantage of this which they did: not luck but persistence in adversity. One undeniable FACT which has to be faced: the wrong call of Pepitone out at first was dishonest and hence this series as beautiful as much of it is, is in an historical trash bin for me. The Yankees were robbed of this World Series victory. My eyes are not Wide Shut. God Bless, Eric Galati

I’ll take my all-time Cardinals squad vs any other franchises all-time squad.
@yungnalege Жыл бұрын
That's a damn good squad. Just for conversation. A all time squad that no one would think about would give alot of teams a run for their money. Think about an All Time Angel's Team. First thought it's a pass but when you really think about it 🤔

Uecker caught Gibson a total of 17 times in '64-'65, although Uek didn't play full games in all of those. Team record in those games in '64 was 6-1 and in '65 4-5 and 1 tie/suspended game at Wrigley opening day. Shannon caught a total of 5 games in 9 years.

I don’t believe so, many have passed away but I don’t believe so. I think many just couldn’t make it out due to their age or health

Dear jimdercole7342, Thank you, but my statement was not silly, nor is it even superficial: the so-called interview is inane. God Bless, Eric
