2014 Acura MDX review

For 2014 the Acura MDX gets bigger and more efficient. But is the more luxurious ride what people are after?

Zack thanks for the good review. You mentioned about the handling. When we tested it here in edmonton the agent demonstrated the IDS and it was by far different than before it is more agile and reponsive. I believe you forgot to mention the IDS feature.

are we not going to talk about how the 0-60 is 4.1 seconds? I turned traction control off, whipped it into sport mode and that beast spun all 4 tires up to 35 mph. This things crazy y'all.

The suspension he complain about with corning is changeable when you change to sport mode. It really stiffens up when you change to sport mode

Most reviews say it handles better but some say its softer - I think it has something to do with the new dampers that are more supple over sharp bumps but actually allow better handling - masking the bumps provides the appearance of a softer vehicle but in actuality it provides better handling - see my next post.

Think a fully loaded highlander could compete against the MDX easily. Other competitors don't have the same ground clearance or space as both vehicles. MDX is really the top at the luxury league.

6 spd still as the TLX has 8 and 9 speed trans, 19" wheel should be standard instead, led fog light is extra, complicated center console, more van like looking (venza by toyota), it is fairly loaded but for $8K different, i can go with the Benz ml350 diesel, i am debating in btw tlx and the mdx, I have waited over 4 years for the re-design. will for another 2 years for the mid-cycle update, will stick with my "old" lexus for now

I can't believe Acura decided not to offer for American market all around camera view, heated steering wheel, fog lights, real wood inserts, head light washers. Acura offers those options for European and Russian customers

Easy decision. This is because Europe and Russia is more dangerous, colder, foggier, and much dirtier than America.

5:44..The new MDX is actually down 10hp from the previous generation

direct injection I believe makes up for that. 10hp at that power level would be hard to tell the difference. If you need more power use Bi-Tron to cut the friction!

V6 direct injection, 290hp, that isn't a lack of power - wouldn't be surprised if it puts out more foot pounds of torque over any other brand with similar horsepower...
