I just did the front & rear diff, transfer case, OC8 fluid/filter, and oil change w/filter yesterday, on my '13 Q7 Prestige 3.0T. pretty simple process. ;) My rear diff old fluid was quite dark, the front was a little darker than your rear fluid. My transmission fluid was pretty near opaque.. I don't think any of them had ever been done, and i got it at 114k miles (122k currently).

That’s good to hear. I don’t think Audi does a service for any drivetrain like front, rear, center or transmission. I think they just call them lifetime service parts that never need serviced but don’t realize that people keep them longer than 100k miles.

Where did you lift the rear of the car after you drove up on the ramps? I'm going to be doing the trans fluid and diffs next week and probably going to lift it the same way you did yours. A6 tdi as well

I put the jack under the rear differential then jacked it up and put ramps under the tires but had to jack up each wheel to center the ramps because the suspension wanted to roll or twist the ramps. If I’d do it again I’d try just jacking it up under the control arms.

What type of oil does the transfer case require?

Hello, I have 2016 3.0 Supercharge and it looks under identical to yours, about week ago changed trasmission oil ZF8 and rear defferential fluid 75W90 the same one goes to the front, but looking at transfer case which is TORSEN SYSTEM right by the the end of trasmission I COULDN'T FIND drain plug for it I only see fill up plug, could you please send any information if you found where drain plug located ? By the way on audi forums people say Transfer Case (Torsen system) Oil has to be 75W140 or original VAG G 052 145 S2, my mechanic guesses that Transfer Case uses the same liquid as trasmission, BUT WHY THEY PUTTED FILL UP PLUG to it.

The drain is under the transmission mount at the rear. You have to support the transmission and remove the mount to get to the drain and the fill will be easier to access with the mount it out.

Do you know if all a7 have 3 differentials? Is the fluid the same for all zf8 transmission ? Anything more specific or general is appreciated
@Halffast719 Жыл бұрын
I’m not familiar with the A7 but if it’s a Quattro then yeah it has 2 differentials and a transfer case. Usually the diffs are gear oil and the transfer case will use the same as the transmission. Best place to check is on autohausaz.com

@Halffast719 Жыл бұрын
@@rolandmurrani437 they’re different for every model but mine took 1 quart for rear diff, .75 quart for front diff and 1.75 quarts for center differential or transfer case.

It has Drain nad Fill Up plug, drain all oil out then fill up until it start to come out, thats it ! Mine (2016 A6 C7 3.0T Supercharge) rear defferential took +- 1.5 quarts of 75W90.

You probably have the electronic sport diff that’s bigger.
