Carven R series muffler + literally just get the carven muffler welded where the resonator was/is, under the car = deeper meaner sound. I can't tell on yours, cant see, but if your muffler is closer to the tip of the exhaust, it can sound a little deeper just by getting it installed it further up. Just the way sound works

I have heard that in California, there is a noise limit of 95db, any higher than that,you could see trouble. At smog checks they check to make sure that you have the stock exhaust system (OEM) on the car. And it could trip the engine check light to come on in rare cases. Be careful!

Never had a problem with cops and the noise. And it’s passed smog during straight pipe because I still have the cat on

I think it only matters that you have a cat on it, doesn't matter if you don't have the original muffler. In California you'll see/hear cars and trucks with custom exhausts everywhere you go.

Can you still pass emissions? I live in Dallas and my Camry is straight piped from the cat back. I want a deeper rumble. If I do a res delete do you think I’ll get a deeper sound plus pass emissions?

Yes it would still pass emissions. As long as the cats are intact. Mufflers and resonators do nothing to clean up what's coming out the pipe, just noise level

SteezeNutz that’s a good question. I know a lot about cars but never thought of the full definition of “straight piped” it makes sense the way you are asking or saying it. I always thought depending on what state you’re in that you have to have your cat and resonator but I have two cats on my car and figured I would take the 2ed one off and the res. Then add the new manga flow headers and the first cat to the down pipe and then to muffler

A A RON yeah I think by straight pipe, it means having having no air flow restrictions from the resonator and muffler and even the cats haha, I’m tryna figure out what to do with mine, I only have a muffler delete right now but either want a high flow resonator or a resonator delete with a muffler not sure what would sound better

SteezeNutz and my the tip of the pipe is dumped basically. Turned downward whatever you want to call it. That’s why your sounds different from mine. I’ll make a video to show you and I need to put some update videos

Yeah it will pass smog because it still has the catalytic converters installed and it is carb approved because it’s the stock intake with a k&n filter. Everything is completely legal
