I remember watching this interview when the stingray was first revealed. Never was big on Corvettes, but after this interview and reveal I was a fan. Fast forward and I just picked my '24 Z06 a few weeks after dreaming about owning a corvette for so long. Salute to Tadge who's retiring as of this summer and going out with a bang, delivering us the 1064 hp ZR1!!

Minor update, it is 2019 and i just bought a 2014 C7 Z51 with 5,000 miles on it and am thrilled with the quality and performance. My last Corvette was a 2007 White Z06 and i do not miss it a bit. Best deal for $45,000 on the market.

I can't wait for 2 to 3 years from now when the used price drops down to about 35,000 to 40,000 so I can buy a base corvette.

Question lets say I brought a C7 2015 Stingray. Is there an actual difference between it and a C7 2019 Stingray or does the year just tell when it was manufactured?

I'm not a huge corvette fan, but the new design looks great. I love direct fuel injection. And I'm super impressed with the fact that GM went for it. All of the gents in the video are EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE. It's really refreshing to listen to that depth of understanding. Lots of work went in to the making of this automobile, and like a said I'm not a huge Corvette fan, but I definitely can give credit where credit is due. Bravo comrades, bravo.

I'm not really a fan of CarandDriver videos, but this was the most informative corporate demo/intro of a car I've seen online. A bit cold sometimes, but for engineers and corporate people talking for that long they did a good job.

It's about time. Finally an interior that actually looks like it belongs in a 40+ grand car. The car looks sexy as hell, but the interior has always been a drag (on Chevy as a whole not just the vette.) Nothing like dropping 40,000 bucks on a car to sit in a 40 dollar interior. And truth be told, I think the big three as a whole have stepped their game up quite a bit in the last couple yrs, It's good to be an American car fan again.

The Chief GM designer said they were thinking about putting back the Split Windows, but The C2 was An all time classic for being one of the beautiful cars made in the world, they didn't want to re-use that style simply because it was "Priceless". so they used a technique of kind of mimicking the rear window by putting those 2 quarter windows on the side of the car, for giving the car a kind of retro but all new look."

The headlights somehow look like Ferrari's but shorter, the side scoops look like Nissan GTR, the brakelights look like those from Lamborghini, and the rear bumper i think they're inspired by the Pagani Huayra. However, it's a very nice car. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure Chevrolet stopped production of the '82 corvette and introduced the model year '84 vette in the beginning of '83. So while there is no MY'83 Corvette, they were still in continuous production.

You are correct, beemer obviously hasn't been in a BMW dealership. Not only are the M6/M5 listed for 100k it's hard to even get an M5 because they are sold out in many areas. Technically there were Corvettes produced with '83 VINs. 44 of them to be exact, except they all but one were destroyed and never released to the public. GM was so crazed with a new design they needed longer to produce the C4 they were looking for. Self-inflited delays put them behind one model year. The sole surviving '83 Vette became the foundation for more changes and resulted in the C4. So technically, the Corvette has been in continuous production.

The base version is the one that's going to have the 450+ bhp engine. I read an article that came out Feb 19, where GM confirmed they're working on the new Z06 and ZR1. They're saying that the goal is 700+bhp for the ZR1. And, as long as they meet that, the Z06 should have 600+ bhp.

AWD is just a prefference and doesnt actually effect your performance in any way unless youre on dirt or snow. A rear wheel drive or front wheel drive car can launch and handle just as well as an AWD car, in fact i prefer rear wheel because it promotes oversteer which pushes the front of the car towards the inside of the turn, thus, making the car turn more. Im glad its rear wheel drive. If youre a good enough driver you dont need all 4 wheels to launch your car or help you keep it on the road
