I've driven one these things multiple times. I gotta say I personally believe it has the best interior out of all the full sized trucks on the market. Not only that but it is VERY quiet. Ride quality is pretty decent, personally I would be happy with that sort of ride quality on a crossover. However what I didn't like, and is a total deal killer for me is the throttle response and transmission tuning. Its tuned for fuel economy, and it makes the truck feel extremely underpowered compared to the last generation. I think as a highway cruiser or for people who have a bit of a relaxed driving style it would be perfect for them. I haven't driven a 2015 F150, but I did drive a 2012 Ecoboost (same engine and transmission) and absolutely loved the drivetrain, it was really eager to get up and go. However I cannot stand the interior on them. There is just so much plastic compared to the other full sized trucks its absolutely ridiculous. The Ram has great ride quality, much better than the other 2, but more interior noise. Engine wise it was pretty average. It has great mid range power, on the low end it was better than the Silverado, but nowhere near as good as the Fords. Interior on these aren't super amazing, but much better than the Fords. Honestly I think this is the truck I would personally go for. If the Ford had a better interior, I would go for that because the drivetrain is so much better than everyone elses. But this has the best balance.

Nice video dude, I am loving my 2 wheel drive Silverado crew cab, 5.3 liter v8, It cranks out a lot of torque, I normally experience tire squeal when I am at a dead stop and suddenly hit the gas pedal. The Silverado's from 2014 on up, are awesome half ton trucks..

I was impressed with the ride quality of this compared to the last Silverado I drove. It didn't crash over large road imperfections as much and it even seemed to handle better. It felt solid, almost less "truck like." -CA

Excellent color combo. I looked at this, but went with the diesel ram with air suspension. I get great mileage with an excellent ride. GMC and Ford better start to offer a diesel in this truck segment or they are going to lose out.

A diesel half-ton is a poor financial decision given the extra maintenance costs, the much higher cost of diesel per gallon, and the initial charge for that diesel. Given that engines like the EcoBoost outperform the Ram's Fiat diesel in every conceivable scenario (including towing) I don't see the point. Ford made the right call staying gasoline here in the US.

After owning a 2018 Ram eco diesel I can confirm it is a poor financial decision. Maintenance was expensive, by the time you factor that diesel is $1 more a gallon in my area I didn’t save any money. Extra torque was not even worth it because it has a lower rating than the hemi due to overheating concerns and throttle response is very poor due to the emissions system. Last but not least, it’s likely to blow up just outside of warranty. It’s a fiat made diesel it is very problematic. Mine went at 111k. Ram isn’t the only one with issues in their half ton diesel, GM 3.0 duramax has overheating issues and 3.0 powerstroke is actually a Land Rover sourced engine (aka one of the least reliable makes). TLDR don’t buy a half ton diesel.

The engine in this particular 2014 Silverado is GM's all-new 5.3L Ecotec3 OHV V8 making 355 hp & 383 lb ft. of torque. Sounds so soulful, don't you agree?!

***** Shit, even the older 5.3s were stout.. I had a ranger, broke down because of human error, but I know you're still gonna laugh it up Chevy guys. Had to pull it back to Indiana from Missouri, and did 80 the whole way.. Ranger weighed 4650, plus about 300lbs of my shit, on an 18 foot open trailer, and still got 11 to the gallon too.. Had no problem pulling it, I swear I forgot it was back there for a minute.. Lol

fordkid17 Just to enlighten you, My Dad was changing the thermostat (It was still his at the time), broke a bolt off into the lower intake, he drilled and tapped it crooked, it leaked, so he siliconed it up. It got driven to michigan quite a bit, and the salt and snow rotted the the leaf spring hangers, so I replaced them, and I was testing them, and quickly learned that my Dad didn't get the fail-safe thermostat for the extra $10.. Sold it last winter to help my Dad get a new vehicle.. 05 escape's shift solenoids go out.. Starting to see a pattern.. But we have a silverado now, and I must admit, I fuckin love that truck. I feel like a traitor.

have always wondered about these newer vehicles with the displays that they have in the middle like this one has, when the vehicle is in actual motion, does thos displays actually lock them out so that while your driving, you wont be able to do anything on it, via a safety feature/????

Understand that, but what I was trying to get at is while the vehicle is in motion, do the buttons and everything within that middle Console, do they lock out like some sort of a safety feature so that it won't make the driver of the vehicle, if he's the only one, have to take his eyes off the road, then when the vehicle comes to a stop or the drive either put the vehicle in Park or Neutral all the buttons unlock so then he can do what he needs to do with the console.......

Andrew Silva No he answered you question the first time. The display is at your control at all times, whether the vehicle is moving or not. You wouldn't want to stop your car every time you wanted to change the radio station or turn the AC on, would you?

I had to rent a truck to haul something so I rented a Silverado for the weekend. It is awesome. Very smooth ride for a truck and plenty on power when taking off. ( although I am not sure what motor it has ). I popped the hood, but cannot see what size it is and it does not say anywhere. The only complaint I have is that the brake pedal is so much higher than the gas pedal. It was really annoying at first, but I think I am getting used to it. Otherwise, it is an awesome truck. Just hope they will consider changing it next model year.
