The wheel well does not need to be removed. It literally in no way would block you from removing the alternator this way and removing it does not create any extra space for removal. I can see removing the wheel for purpose for recording video but you don’t need to remove the tire either

Had to replace the alternator from the top. I couldn't get the ac studs out. Very little room to work. The top is more room barely. And easy with 4 hands. Good shit.

Omg not another.... get from bottom alternator! I did my 2013 caravan alternator from top. Remove upper rad support, bend oil dipstick out of way a bit. Wiggle alternator out through top. No tire removal, no laying on ground etc! Cheers!

I did 2 of them within few days, of each other, first was outside in the dark in a gas station parking lot. FROM top is EASY as easy can be, been wrenching over 30 years, never really removed a fan as easy as this one, slide overflow bottle up and pull away it dismounts, once you disconnect the hose for it, disconnect the top radiator hose, it will drip out little bit but nothing major, I stuffed a rag in each opening (end of hose and radiator) to get fan out is 2 push clips, pull up with little extra carefulness to get past few minor obstacles like goose neck of radiator , and the engine ,once you get it out the cable and plug are right there in plain site along with the 2 LONG mounting bolts, pull the airbox which just plunges into place to get to the the tensioner and side nut 13mm break loose and rest of it was by finger get that off slide outward so comes off stud and gently snake out between radiator and engine. one outside in dark about 32 degrees took little long was first experience with this model and dark using a work light, 2nd one took less than 1 hour, in a garage.

Followed your procedure, everything was easy until I tried last bolt on alternator and the power cable on alternator. VERY little room to work, and these two bolts took me almost two hours to get out.... NOW... I hope it goes back in easier. About to find out.

I don't see a jackstand. Piease tell me you we're under the car using only that hydraulic trolley jack to hold up the car??!! 😮 NEVER get under a car if it's only being held up by a jack ofcany kind! ALWAYS use jackstsnds or wheel ramps to hold a car up if you are getting under it!
